The moment Aethara tried to kill Selene with a casual swing of her sword, Corey was able to react on time because his mind was entirely on Aethara and every single movement she made.
Although he had been taking his gaze off her, his Eyes of Omniscience provided him a birds eye view of everything that was happening in a hundred meter radius at the bare minimum.
Because of this, he was able to react to Aethara's sudden attack, and he pushed Selene out of the way while using his axe to block Aethara's saber.
To his slight disbelief and surprise, the force and strength behind her attack was more than he expected and he was sent flying away despite blocking the attack.

Despite the massive shockwave and power behind the axe, Aethara's expression remained one of indifference, calmness, and boredom as she nonchalantly blocked the axe with her saber that was dangerously close to her neck.
She looked up, and then her pupils reflected the sight of Corey's supremely handsome face that contained a frigid coldness in his gaze as he struggled to push his axe into her neck. Despite the fact that Corey was taller than her, her presence seemed much greater than Corey's due to the fact that she was nonchalantly stopping two weapons.
She shifted her gaze from Corey's face to his axe, and then her lips parted open.

Aethara cocked her side and stared at Corey for approximately three seconds, and then she spoke.
