The instant Aethara spoke these words, Corey and Selene's expressions changed. Their instincts sent warning signals to them, and without hesitation, they jumped away from Aethara.

Lightning appeared on Selene's feet as she increased the distance between her and Aethara, meanwhile, Corey used the skill, Super Jump, to distance himself from Aethara.

Long thorny crimson vines shot out from her armor-like gown woven from enchanted silk and thorny vines. The speed of the vines was as fast as the speed of lightning, and in less than the blink of an eye, the crimson vines shot out and pierced Corey in his abdomen, and Selene in her right shoulder.

The expressions of both Corey and Selene changed the instant they saw the crimson vines in their bodies.

The speed of the vines was just too fast for them to react to!

Corey quickly came to a stop, and then he glanced at his abdomen where a gaping hole could be seen. Blood poured out from his mouth, and then he coughed out a mouthful of blood.

Corey used his left hand to cover his mouth, and then he looked at his blood. It was black and it also emitted a putrid scent that made him scrunch his brows in disgust.

'Poison... Wait, no...'

Corey calmly shifted his gaze to his abdomen, and a slightly surprised and baffled expression appeared on his face when he saw the gaping hole in his abdomen.

The injury was becoming black and cracks could be seen on the edges of the injury that was rapidly spreading. The injury was visibly becoming worse, and a deep frown could be seen on Corey's face.

'... Rot... My skin is rotting?'

Corey recalled Aethara's previous words, and according to her, what she controlled was the power of Rot.

Corey coughed out another mouthful of black blood, and then he clenched his axe tightly while slowly getting up. He wiped off the black blood from his lips, and then he glanced at Aethara who had an indifferent, calm, and bored expression as she watched him get up without interfering.

Selene nodded, and Corey stood. He grabbed his axe with both hands while twisting his neck to the side which then produced loud cracking sounds.

"Let's go."

The instant Corey said these words, lightning appeared on both their feet, and with a loud bang, they ran toward Aethara, leaving bolts of lightning in their wake.

In less than two seconds, they reached Aethara, and they instantly swung their weapons at Aethara.

Selene's weapon was covered in blue lightning, meanwhile, Corey's axe glowed in a multitude of colors.

With bone-chilling expressions, they swung their weapons at Aethara at the same time, and the ground beneath them shattered and a massive shockwave which produced a massive dust cloud was produced as a result of the attack.

BANG!

WHOOSH!

"Now... you're annoying me."

Aethara's voice rang out in the dust cloud, and the dust cloud cleared to reveal Aethara standing in the same spot without moving an inch.

Her hands were nonchalantly crossed as she blocked Corey's massive axe and Selene's sword with her two sabers.

"Selene."

Corey ignored Aethara's words and looked at Selene with his pure white eyes.

Selene looked back at him, "Yes?"

"Show me that you're not useless."

Selene dryly laughed and then she cursed softly, "Damn it."

Aethara furrowed her brows in annoyance, and then she swung her sabers upward, pushing Corey and Selene away. Before a second passed, she swung her saber at Selene, and Selene's eyes widened in disbelief.

'Damn it! Are you not supposed to attack and focus on Master since he's the monster among us?'
