Chapter 1346: Hunting the bear (2)
"We will aim for its eyes, Madam Yu," Huntress Ning said to Yu Dong. "You can go for its heart but please remember that it will be better for you to use a bow and arrow rather than a dagger."
They couldn’t let Yu Dong get too close to the bear, if something happened to Yu Dong then what would they say to Yu Dong’s husbands who were waiting for her to return? What was more the entire village now relied on Yu Dong! If something went wrong with her then their entire village would suffer a tragic end as well.
"I understand," Yu Dong took the bow and arrow from Huntress Ning but she did not use it directly. She needed to injure the bear severely, only when it no longer had the energy to fight back could she shoot him in the heart.
Huntress Ning also knew this. She turned to look at her daughter and team members before saying, "Try to make it weak, if it keeps moving around like that, then we will not be able to kill it."
The bear was not as agile as a tiger but its fur was really thick as the bristles of its coat were hard and rough. If they wanted to take that bear down, then they needed to keep attacking it until it could no longer move.
Something that was easier said than done as bears couldn’t be injured so easily.
"I will aim for its eyes," Ning Yeqing said to her mother as she stepped forward.
Huntress Ning nodded as she stepped back and then rounded around the bear with the rest. They could not corner it but they could surround it.
The team members climbed up the trees while Ning Yeqing got as close as she could to the bear. She notched an arrow on the bow as she aimed for the eyes of the bear but just as the arrow went loose, the bear ended up moving causing the arrow to get stuck in the tree behind it.
Maybe the bear sensed something amiss and immediately turned around, it threw the leader of the coyotes on the ground and turned its attention to Yu Dong who clutched the long knife in her hands.
An ugly squelching sound echoed in the forest and the arrow that Ning Yeqing aimed at the bear’s eye finally found its goal. It got deeply stuck in the left eye of the bear making it partially blind.
And very angry as well.
Blood dripped down from the eye of the bear that was pierced and it wasn’t a surprise to anyone as they saw the bear get even more angry. It swiped its paws on the trunk of the tree causing the bark to be shaved as claw marks appeared on it.
It then turned its attention to Yu Dong and Xiao Yu who was still trying to test the limits of the bear. And from what they could see, this thing did not seem to be as weak as they thought.
"If I die today, I am going to haunt you forever, Madam Yu," Xiao Yu said to Yu Dong as she saw the bear marching towards them. It had lost its vision in one eye and yet it was moving!
Yu Dong chuckled and raised her large knife but before the two women could attack the bear again, it suddenly changed its course and instead of rushing at them—— it turned to the left!
Seeing this Yu Dong’s eyes widened and she shouted, "It is going to the village!" She chased after the furious bear and so did the rest of the hunters. No matter what they could not let it attack the village!
