Chapter 373 Competent
Chapter 373 Competent
"What the hell is this feeling?" I muttered to myself.
My intuition screamed that something or someone dangerous was near, but checking my 3D map revealed nothing.
I had never felt so threatened since gaining power, suggesting that whoever caused this disturbance must be really powerful.
"Changnim, I want all of you to hide in the hangar for now," I commanded. It was better if they were close to the entrance, as I could help them immediately in case something happened on the surface.
"And protect her no matter what," I added, my gaze landing on Yen, who was now with us.
After finishing my orders, I returned to the prison ward to check on my mother. They were still struggling to figure out the dome, so I had to reluctantly step in and help them.
The corridor was like a nightmare, as expected.
Dead bodies were scattered everywhere, twisted and broken. The floor was a mess of limbs and blood, while the walls turned red from the gruesome scene. It felt like a chilling horror had taken over this place.
'No one is coming anymore?' I mused to myself.
The agents must have also realized that sending more people would be suicide, as they seemed to have evacuated the entire department. They had already given up on dealing with the intruders, and to be honest, it broke my heart deeply.
I just needed a couple thousands more EXP to level up, so I was expecting some resistance from them, providing me with justification to kill and farm.
'I have to hurry,' I said to myself, picking up the pace.
I ran towards where my grandfather was using raw physical speed, feeling the rush of wind against my face.
I chose not to use my Mind power, wary of potential obstacles or dangers that might lurk along the way.
"Hey, are you finished?" I shouted after entering the prison. I saw my mother and the three people standing by the glass dome, contemplating on what to do.
Looking closely, grandpa knew he was getting rescued, but he couldn't catch what they were talking about, judging from his expression.
"This is trickier than we thought," Zeker clicked his tongue in frustration. They had attempted to force it open, but the glass dome remained unscathed. It absorbed every attack as if it were impervious to damage.
[System: Computing Synchronization Rate]
[System: 100% compatible with the system]
[System: Would you like to combine this tech with Aegis Projection? ]
[Yes] or [No]
"Nice!" I nearly jumped in excitement as I heard the consecutive notifications. So, this thing was another Alien Tech.
'Yes,'I responded immediately. There were no 'what ifs.' My system had just offered me a free upgrade, so saying no would be dumb.
The moment I said yes, some particles of the glass melted in my hands and merged with my skin. However, the quantity was so small that no one noticed it.
[System : Combining ]
[System : Advance Aegis Projection ]
[ Advance Aegis Projection (Level 200)]
[Summon a projection and materialize it out of thin air. This projection could have an additional layer of armor called "Crystallin" for 5 minute, a material that could absorb almost any kind of damage.]
[Cost to Activate: 40 Mind Power]
'This skill would turn me into an unbeatable force for 5 minutes, but damn, the cost is huge," I muttered to myself. It looks like I could only unleash this ability when my Mind Power soared past 50, and even then, it would be a real struggle.
However, that was not the only benefit I got. After integrating with my system, I could feel a connection towards the glass. It was as if I knew how to manipulate it slightly.
"I can make a hole in this thing for a split second, but you need to grab Grandpa immediately," I declared with confidence.
The entire group's attention turned toward me after they heard my words. They were shocked to learn that I was more talented than they initially believed.
The fools didn't even know that I'm weakened right now. I wonder what their faces would be when they see my full power.
