Chapter 435: Boiling Point
Chapter 435: Boiling Point
"Here you go ," I handed Ayumi a can of warm coffee after we left the karaoke bar. She had drunk some alcohol, so she was a bit tipsy.
"Thank you, Seonsaeng-nim," she responded and took a sip. She looked quite embarrassed at the moment, and I could sense that she wanted to say something.
It had been a while since I last saw her, so I gave her some time to gather her thoughts first.
"I’m sorry," she apologized, her voice a little bit shaky.
"For what?" I asked, feeling like it should be me who needed to apologize for neglecting her.
I had been too busy with my own life, and she was no longer my priority. In a way, it was really ironic. I kept telling myself that she was my favorite girl, but she received the least attention.
Unlike my other harem members, who all lived in luxury with their own fully furnished high-end rooms, cars, allowances, and more, I always treated Ayumi like a regular girl.
It was my way of treating her differently and especial , but instead, I was hurting her.
"I went and drank without your permission." Her voice weakened as she responded.
I chuckled softly and gently patted her head. "Silly girl," I said with a smile, "You don’t need my permission for everything."
She looked up at me, a hint of relief in her eyes, and whispered, "Thank you."Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"No, I’m the one who needs to thank you," I replied warmly, "I feel normal when I’m with you."
My words weren’t just empty flattery; unlike with the other girls, where I often felt disconnected from my humanity, her presence acted as a buffer. With her, I could chill and relax.
"I feel really safe when I’m with you, Seonsaeng-nim," she responded softly, leaning into my shoulder. Her breath was heavy as she inhaled, trying to imprint my scent in her memory.
Hearing her words made me really happy.
"Ayumi, what’s your plan after this?" I inquired, genuinely curious about her aspirations. With my influence and resources, she had endless possibilities at her fingertips.
"I want to study business at Seoul University," she replied determinedly.
"That’s good," I said, a smile spreading across my face. "Maybe in the future, we could partner up and start a business together."
I could easily hand her a business empire if she wanted, but that would make things dull for her. I wanted her to enjoy college life, to experience new things.
Besides, I already had plenty of women working for me; there was no need to burden her with heavy responsibilities.
"I will do my best, Seonsaeng-nim," she promised earnestly.
"What’s wrong, Ayumi?" I inquired quickly, noticing her distress expression.
"My big sis attended a party there," she said while pulling out her phone.
She waited anxiously as the phone rang, each tone feeling like an eternity. Finally, after what seemed like ages, her sister answered.
"Ayumi, we’re trapped—" Yumi attempted to speak, but the connection abruptly cut off before she could say anything more.
Panic surged through Ayumi as the line went dead. Tears streamed down her face as she tried to contact her sister again.
But there was no longer a connection.
"Seonsaeng-nim!" she cried out, her heart wrenching with fear and desperation.
"Relax and rest," I whispered soothingly, guiding her into a state of hypnosis. With gentle care, I settled her head onto the car’s headrest.
There was no need for her to worry. After all, I was her boyfriend; rescuing her sister would be a simple task for me.
*BLINK!
With a Quick teleportation, I materialized at the burning building’s rooftop. Surveying the area with my advance map tracker, I made a 3D layout of the place.
Focusing my thoughts, I honed in on the area where a party might have been held, scanning carefully for any sign of Yumi amidst the fire. Find adventures at empire
There were a lot of people crying out for help, but I never considered myself a hero, so I felt no guilt for ignoring them.
"There you are," I muttered softly as I finally spotted her.
However, my relief quickly turned to concern as I realized the dire situation: Yumi was being choked by another individual.
"Not good," I reacted instantly, teleporting to where Yumi was under attack.
Time slowed as I acted, but the man holding Yumi reacted to my presence. His fist clenched, ready to tear her neck apart.
Blink!
I teleported Yumi to safety, embracing her tightly as I held her close to me.
"How dare you try to harm my sister-in-law," I growled through gritted teeth, my anger boiling over.
This man was about to experienced hell.
