however, adding two others would undoubtedly make things more complicated. still, if they were up for the task, adonis was more than happy to have them on this journey as allies to aid him on the quest to save the world.
all that mattered was that they completed the mission-no matter what!
"there is no such thing as regression, adonis!" rey hammered his words into his head once again. "you're not a regressor, at least... not in the real sense of the word. and... that magic circle isn't for regression."
"what are you sayi-?"
"i can see everything with my [perfect divine appraisal], adonis... and i see it perfectly now." he pointed at the magic circle.
"that thing is meant to travel worlds, not send you to the past."

"you wouldn't be regressing." rey sighed. "you'd just be jumping ship to a new world."

"you're wrong! i've regressed before! i have!" adonis yelled out, taking a step back, so he could be much closer to the magic circle.

"i can see your status window, adonis!" rey yelled out, his voice nearly sounding like a behemoth that would swallow him whole.
"you're not a regressor... you're a transmigrator."

gritted his teeth and took another step towards the magic circle.
"no!" rey frantically responded. "the gateway is for alicia! alicia and anyone else
who doesn't want to stay here anymore and want to return to their normal life."
"you hypocrite!"
"i'm not! i know you want to save this world, adonis! i do too." rey tried to take a step
forward, but that only pushed the hero away. "we can do this together, adonis!"
"no..."
"it might be too late for your world, but would you really let this world die?"
"this is my world, rey! and once i regress, i'll save everyone!"
"no..." rey shook his head and sighed. "... you won't be saving anyone here, adonis."
"i wi-"
"you'll just be running away."
at this point, rey's pleading eyes and frantically desperate tone faded.
replacing them was a cold expression.
he had a stiff face, with calculating eyes and a perfectly stoic demeanor-almost as if he had
lost all the emotions he had been displaying earlier.
"adonis, i'll only say this once-stop what you're doing right now."
"you know i can't do that, rey..." adonis took one final step into the magic circle, now finding
himself at its very center.
"i have to-"
~whooosh!~
within the blink of an eye, rey vanished from his position--using nothing but raw speed-
and appeared right in front of adonis. he swiftly grabbed him by the face, launching him
away from the circle before the latter could offer even the tiniest form of resistance.
in no time at all-
~thud!~
-adonis crashed on the incredibly sturdy ground, grunting and groaning as rey stood on top
of him with his cool gaze.
"i told you... i'd only say it once."
