Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild

Chapter 777 - 374: Acting Vice Leader

Chapter 777 - 374: Acting Vice Leader

As they tidied up and stepped onto the street, Andasu’s steps were still unsteady. After being taught a lesson, at least for the short term, she was obedient and only dared to stick close by, not daring to lift her head. She no longer had the ferocious wolf demeanor, more like a well-behaved pup.

"Let’s wait for them here. They should be here soon."

The two stood for a while. Andasu finally regained her composure, and not wanting to lose face in front of others, slowly returned to her cold and stern appearance.

Soon, three people appeared at the end of the street with strange expressions. Upon seeing Li Ang and his companion, they said something amongst themselves and hid their belongings deep in their bags.

As they approached, Li Ang noticed that Zoe and Dorothy were holding back their emotions, while ALulu seemed to be engulfed in some form of shyness.

He found it odd; these three were supposed to capture someone, but it seemed as if something unexpected had occurred in a short amount of time.

They each refrained from mentioning anything had happened. Zoe, with a puffed-up face, asked: "Where did you two go?"

"We went to a secluded area; materials were hard to find," Li Ang replied.

"Oh?" Dorothy squinted suspiciously, "But we went through all the major markets unless you were only going through alleyways."

Li Ang secretly held onto the base of Andasu’s tail from behind, preventing her from instinctively wagging it and giving away the truth.

The White Wolf bit her lips, her eyes brimming with tears.

"I believe that my brother and An were being serious," ALulu said softly.

Even Xiaoniu’s light purple eyes lost their shine, resembling an abyss—somewhat intimidating.

Rather than belief, it would be better to say she "wanted to believe" that the Alliance hadn’t sneaked away.

A faint, tangible resentment made Andasu slightly surprised and uncomfortable.

"We might have just missed each other; we were at the Yijie Association meeting point,"

Li Ang quickly changed the subject: "We found out something about Zoe’s parents."

"Ah? Really?"

The chestnut-haired young girl immediately rushed forward to grab Li Ang’s sleeve.

"It’s getting late. Let’s find a place to eat and discuss it over dinner."

With the critical topic brought up, the conversation naturally veered away from suspicion. Once Li Ang and Farina, Meimei joined the group with the two young girls, they headed toward the food street.

The City of Trade is almost a gathering place for all the cuisine of Nebis. As they strolled through the bustling streets, surrounded by girls with various charm, Li Ang felt a profound sense of transcendence.

Beautiful and real, dreamy and unforgettable—like all the wonderful things in the world converging towards him. He stood at the center of the world, mastering everything.

However, the reality of the scenery kept pulling him back, reminding him and reinforcing his determination to protect everything before him.

"Li Ang, what are you thinking about?"

Only when the meal was mostly served did Zoe’s question fully awaken Li Ang. Though the young girl was eager, she patiently waited until this moment.

"Well... I was thinking that due to the construction of the Eternal Summer and other expenses, we’re out of money."

"Ah?" The young girls gasped in unison.

"Is it that surprising? I’m not the richest person in Nebis either. Money runs out eventually."

Li Ang chuckled, "Perhaps earlier you didn’t feel the financial pressure?"

Aside from Meimei, who had just joined the group, and Farina with her own savings, the other four nodded in agreement.

These four wild girls were basically taken in along the way, and their pocket money in the past was all given by Li Ang.

Surely, they had completed some demon subjugation commissions during several adventures, but those funds were far less than what Li Ang allowed them to spend. Before the Eternal Summer, since the Sky Cavalry hadn’t officially set sail, individual salaries were also vaguely accounted for.

Or rather, due to their ambiguous relationship with Li Ang and their almost free-wheeling use of resources, financial issues weren’t even much of a concern.

But being broke means you’re broke.

"Previously, we were financially comfortable mainly because we acquired a lot of gemstones on Satus Island, thanks to the relic shell of Anna’s former self. Technically, the initial funds came from Zoe and Anna," Li Ang explained.

The chestnut-haired girl put her hands on her hips, looking triumphant in front of the others. Accustomed to being financially deprived, ALulu and Andasu shrank back their heads.

The Half Elf grinned, having lost her economic support and no longer being a noble lady. At this moment, she couldn’t maintain her presence either, only softly asking, "Can’t Anna produce more gemstones?"

"I could strive for the Divine Child," the golden-haired young girl replied.

"There’s no need to overexert yourself. Even if you fully produced gemstones, they wouldn’t translate to much money, and your growth would stagnate."

Since Nebis’s Earth Element gathers at the island’s heart, ordinary gemstones aren’t as valuable as on Earth. That significant wealth previously came purely because the Earth Serpent’s relic shell on Satus Island had too much residue. The fortune was a result of Star Soul essence reacting with the Earth Element.

To maximize efficiency, it would require Anna to bleed heavily.

"Then Li Ang, Li Ang, how about selling my scales and Dragon Horns?" Livi suggested.

"That’s not an option either. We’re not at that point yet."

Li Ang pointed to the guild mission point they had seen earlier: "I’m merely saying that it’s time to take on legitimate tasks."

"Is that all?" Zoe asked.

"When it comes to filling our stomachs, it’s no small matter,"

Li Ang stated seriously, "With so many people in our troupe now, it’s time to choose a deputy leader."

"A deputy leader?" The young girls focused their attention on this.

"What’s that for?" Zoe inquired.

"Once the Star Flower Travel Corps is officially in operation, communication and exchanges with the Guild and other teams will be inevitable. Handling and undertaking commissions will be a routine task, along with trading intelligence and resources with other Sky Cavalries. While I’m around, I can take care of these, but there are times when I’m not."
