Post-Apocalyptic Rebirth: The Ghost Guanyin Transforms into a God

Chapter 249 Alarm

Chapter 249 Alarm

This guy was standing with them just a moment ago, and the next second he was standing behind the superpowered person and slit his throat.

"Pretty fast, isn't that how you always try to steal the credit?" Tu mocked indifferently, his wolf claw disappearing into his fingertips.

Chao Boyan wasn't angry; he just smiled kindly and said, "I'm not very talented; I just make money by being quick with my hands."

Others may not know, but the two of them know each other very well.

One is a lone wolf mercenary who doesn't kill his employers, and the other is an assassin who will do anything for money. When you're out in the world, it's inevitable to run into fellow assassins.

However, when they were working together on a certain mission, Chao Boyan "accidentally" and "almost" shot him twice. Tu Hao then decided to treat him like an animal and kill him to make soup if he couldn't stand it anymore.

No one expected that they would ever work together again.

"Chao Boyan, destroy that alarm."

It would be difficult to deal with the dead guard at the gate, as there are too many people around. However, Miao Yin wouldn't mind silencing everyone inside.

Beyond this point lies a closed area. As long as the monitoring room is incompetent enough, even if everyone inside dies, we won't know until tomorrow morning.

Miao Yin glanced at her watch again. The shift change was half an hour, and five minutes had already passed: "Let's go first."

"Good boss."

Chao Boyan first took the remote control from the man and opened the door, allowing Miao Yin and the others to leave first.

He took out a knife, pried open the red alarm button on the wall, and destroyed the circuit inside, so that no one could use the alarm.

He pressed the switch and closed the door, put the remote control in his pocket, and followed the person in front of him.

Once the door opened, it was practically another world.

The walls were white, the smell of disinfectant was strong, and rows of expensive medical equipment and petri dishes were displayed on both sides of the corridor, without even a door to block them.

Because of the unique nature of the dungeon, all the disposal areas were converted from the original shops, and some places that hadn't been renovated were still covered with anime posters.

Miao Yin saw rows of anticoagulant tubes filled with blood in a room on her right. Several tubes were still on the centrifuge, seemingly because they had been in such a hurry that they hadn't had time to put them away.

This is the place that truly tests the blood of those from outside the city.

If it's just a simple check-up, there's no need to put it here.

Sure enough, they were studying blood, whether from ordinary people or those with special abilities.

Even at one o'clock in the morning, the laboratory was still brightly lit, and several pairs of gloves were on the table.

It seems there are still some people who haven't left.

"Who are you?!" a female voice demanded.

Miao Yin turned her head and saw two women in white coats lying on the ground, with Xia Tang not far from them.

The flashing heart shape faded, and Xia Tang nodded to them: "It's resolved."

The treacherous bullets were clearly not the kind that were used one at a time. Xia Tang followed beside them, her red hair fluttering. Every time she touched someone, she would fall down before she could even see their face clearly.

Miao Yin looked down and glanced at one face after another, but did not see any familiar faces.

It seems she's still inside. She thought to herself.

As the journey continued, Tu Hao's brows gradually furrowed.

His premonition of danger began to ring.

His intuition told him that something dangerous was hidden there.

Perhaps this is the origin of the apocalypse that Miao Yin spoke of.

Miao Yin recalled the map, and the road in front of her was now crystal clear.

She circled around corner after corner, and finally stopped in front of a large white door.

Above the gate, inside a transparent square, is a sign that reads: Research and Development Department.

The person who hadn't said a word the whole way finally laughed, and then she kicked the door open!

Tu Hao: !

The door, which was securely closed by magnets, was kicked open and left hanging in pieces on the side, with a large dent in the middle, looking utterly pathetic.

"Who?!" Startled by the commotion, the people in white coats gathered around.

The R&D department is very spacious. Countless bottles and jars are placed on black and white tables. The instrument screens are lit up, and the green lines of data fluctuate. Hanging lamps are suspended, and hundreds of white mice run around in cages with their pink tails intertwined.

Behind them were eight opaque isolation rooms, each with a monitor on one wall, observing everything that happened inside.

On one side was a row of cylindrical culture chambers, in which ugly, mutated humans floated in a blue-green liquid, with dozens of tubes extending from their bodies, bubbling and gurgling.

If someone were here attentively, they would notice that this row of incubation chambers is exactly the same as the one in Yecheng.

Bullets flew out, shattering the surveillance cameras with a crackling sound. Miao Yin stepped into the research and development department, her gaze falling on a couple, a hint of malice in her eyes.

"Found you."

……

Even though it was done very quickly and discreetly, the series of black screens in the monitoring room still caught the attention of the guards.

"Something's wrong. It seems like something's happened down there. Requesting backup."

The person guarding the monitoring room immediately reported to their superiors and requested armed support.

Now that the western district has been attacked, almost all of the troops are tied up at the city walls and unable to leave.

But the laboratory is a secret location in Dream City, a place for researching aberrations. The base has spent countless efforts to build it, and it absolutely cannot be abandoned.

Therefore, even though all the troops were concentrated in the western district, Fang Ce still managed to transfer a team out.

This was originally intended as the last force to guard the training grounds and the central building, and it was only to be activated at the very end, but in an emergency, there's no time to worry about that.

After Fang Ce applied to Elder Lu, he transferred thirty men from the team, equipped them with weapons, and the military vehicles drove out of the training ground and stopped at the central building.

"What's the situation inside?" Fang Ce asked into the walkie-talkie.

"Two-thirds of the surveillance cameras have been destroyed and are completely obscured. We suspect the other party is armed," the person on the other end of the walkie-talkie reported.

"Okay, evacuate everyone downstairs to the fifth floor. They can come down after we've dealt with things downstairs and it's safe."

"Yes."

After hanging up the walkie-talkie, before they could even enter the building, a biting cold wind swept over them, and a huge shadow climbed up and occupied the entire building.

"Lieutenant!" the soldier shouted, his voice almost hoarse, followed by the sound of everyone cocking their weapons.

Fang Ce, standing on the steps, turned around and, upon seeing the situation behind him, his breath caught in his throat and his heart nearly stopped.

A colossal python appeared behind the army at some unknown time. Its terrifying size blocked out all the moonlight, and the world suddenly lost its color, with only its white scales gleaming with a delicate and cold luster.

It raised its serpentine body, its casually swung tail crushing the tree trunk, its scarlet forked tongue, as if stained with human blood, spitting out, its beastly eyes filled with venom, sending chills down the spine of anyone who looked at it.

Fang Ce pressed the walkie-talkie on his chest, his wildly beating heart being forcefully suppressed in his vocal cords, leaving only swift and precise speech to transmit the message to the monitoring room.

"The central area has been attacked by a mutant animal. The temporary alert level is pink crystal core, Level 1 alert, citywide alert."

Three seconds later, a red alarm sounded throughout the city.
