Chapter 7, Day 2
Chapter 7, Day 2
The next morning, Viktor got up early.
He meditated for a while. Although the progress was not fast, there were no shortcuts to a wizard's progress. Victor's talent in meditation had allowed him to progress very quickly, and he was content with that for the time being.
When he finished meditating, he found that Gar had also gotten up and was already practicing swordsmanship and body-strengthening techniques in the courtyard behind the building.
Viktor had only intended to call the other man for breakfast, but seeing Gar's powerful and imposing stance as he wielded his greatsword, a thought suddenly occurred to him:
"Books can be considered equipment, but none of the many books in my room can be considered equipment."
"This means that the two books Nina gave me are different from the books in my room... Is it because they involve supernatural powers? Or is it because they involve alchemy?"
He looked at Karl:
"Although Garr's body-forging technique is merely a skill for mortals to learn, stimulating the life seed within the body can still generate extraordinary abilities beyond those of ordinary people... So, could I have Karl write down the body-forging technique, and perhaps turn it into an equipable item?"
If it were possible to obtain special items this way...
"You can give it a try."
Thinking of this, Viktor looked up and called out to Gar:
"Garn!"
Hearing the voice calling him, Garr stopped what he was doing and looked over. When he saw it was Viktor, he quickly walked over.
"Your Highness, what are your orders?"
Victor said:
"It's nothing serious. I just wanted to ask you if you still remember the body-strengthening method you practiced?"
"If I asked you to write down the process and precautions for practicing the body-strengthening method, could you do it?"
Garr nodded without hesitation:
"Of course, Your Highness."
"Body training is the foundation of a knight, and the methods of training are deeply ingrained in my mind."
"If you need, I will start writing it down and give it to you in a moment."
"Thank you for your help, Gar."
Viktor couldn't help but chuckle.
It has to be said that having such a loyal and efficient subordinate is indeed quite reassuring.
Garr then continued speaking:
"Your Highness, may I ask if you wish to practice the Body Tempering Technique, or perhaps sell it?"
"If you want to cultivate, my body-strengthening method will require some auxiliary medicinal herbs."
Viktor looked at him and shook his head slightly:
"No, I just have some ideas about body tempering techniques, so I don't need to buy materials specifically."
"I see......"
Garr suddenly realized what was happening and shut his mouth, asking no more questions.
Victor didn't have any other questions, so he called Gar and prepared to have breakfast first:
"Let's have breakfast first."
"It's getting late. I'll have breakfast and then head to the academy."
Garr nodded:
"Yes, Your Highness!"
......
The morning sun felt just right on my skin.
Viktor walked into the college from the bustling street and went straight to the laboratory building without stopping.
This time, the alchemy golem did not stop him, letting him push open the door and walk in. Looking inside, he saw Nina, who had changed into an orange-yellow robe, already standing next to the alchemy golem production line.
Upon noticing his arrival, she waved to him:
"You've come at the perfect time, Viktor."
"It just so happens that there are some structural misalignments on this production line."
"This is a common minor problem on the production line. Come over and see how I solve it, and learn from me."
Upon hearing this, Viktor quickened his pace and moved closer.
Then Nina was seen standing next to a gilded golem beside the production line, with her hand on its back.
The back of the alchemical golem was opened, revealing something inside that resembled a panel, covered with densely packed runes.
All the runes connected, shimmering faintly as Nina infused them with magic:
"Watch closely."
Nina gestured for Victor to examine the runes on the back of the alchemical golem:
"These runes are the key to an alchemical golem's ability to act autonomously."
"Now, the runes on this alchemical golem have developed a structural misalignment problem. This kind of problem is usually caused by the overflow of magic power in the runes due to prolonged use, which then affects the normal operation of the runes."
"What we need to do is identify this problem in time, and then readjust the magical runes inside the alchemical golem to get it working again."
"But we have to be very careful in this process, because our magic is too strong for the runes that are supposed to maintain a balance of magic. If we make a mistake, at best it will cause other runes to become misaligned and ineffective, and at worst it will cause a chain reaction, and it is even possible that it will turn into a rune bomb."
"So this also requires some experience and precise control over magic..."
As she explained to Victor, she carefully used her magic to begin adjusting.
Victor couldn't actually tell what she was doing, since magic wasn't something that could be observed with the naked eye. He could only roughly tell which part she was repairing by the flashing light of the runes on the alchemical golem's back.
It didn't take long, about three minutes, before the crystal eyes of the stopped alchemical golem lit up again, and its four arms began to move again.
Nina withdrew her hand, closed the back of the alchemical golem, turned around, and continued speaking to Victor:
"Done!"
"That's roughly the process for fixing structural misalignment. Can you see anything?"
Viktor honestly shook his head:
"Sorry, senior... I didn't see anything."
"Haha~~ That's normal."
Nina was naturally not surprised:
"Alchemy is inherently difficult, let alone rune techniques, which are also very difficult within alchemy."
"At first, I was also very troubled, but later I found that repairing alchemical golems does not require a great deal of expertise in alchemy and ancient runes. You just need to learn how to deal with the problems that may occur on the alchemical golems."
"That's basically all I'm going to teach you."
"Such as the structural misalignment you just mentioned, these are common minor issues. Besides that, there could be manufacturing errors, worn-out parts that need to be replaced, etc... Don't worry, I'll teach you everything I know over the next month."
A hint of gratitude appeared on Viktor's face:
"Thank you so much, senior."
Nina waved her hand, indicating it was nothing.
"Then wait a moment, I will start teaching you some basics of alchemy in a short while."
"The session will last about two hours. After that, you can stay here with me or go about your own business in the afternoon. This will allow you to gradually adapt to the work here."
"After all, the production line doesn't break down every moment. If we're lucky, we might not have any problems for several days."
"Then......"
Nina pondered for a moment, then turned to look at the very empty space next to the production line and asked Victor:
Do you need a worktable?
"There's also an abandoned workbench of the mentor in the warehouse. Although it's a bit old, it was used by the mentor, and the equipment on it is still in good condition."
"If you need it, I'll get it out and put it in that open space over there."
"This way, you should be able to save some magic stones, and when you're not busy here, you can use the worktable to do your own things."
Victor was naturally very interested:
"Really, senior?"
"That would be too much trouble for you!"
