Chapter 428 No Longer Afraid
Chapter 428 No Longer Afraid
Arya's newly ignited hope was shattered once again.
Seeing the disappointment in her eyes, Lin Liuyi couldn't help but ask her what was wrong.
Ailiya then explained her situation, hoping Lin Liuyi could help her find a solution.
Upon hearing this, Lin Liu exclaimed, "Good heavens, isn't this an interstellar version of 'running away with the ball'?"
"Do you like that second prince?"
Aria was a little confused. She might have liked him back then, but now she wasn't sure.
The thought that her years of fleeing might have been caused by the other party made it hard for her not to be angry with the Second Prince.
But when she saw her two precious children, she couldn't bear to part with them.
Lin Liuyi understood now; it turned out he still couldn't bear to part with it.
But don't forget that the second prince has a fiancée!
And they're even sending people to hunt them down!
"I want to protect my child, as for men, forget about them!" Aria mustered up her courage and spoke her true thoughts.
“But I can’t do it.” Arya was immediately deflated again.
Lin Liuyi has a solution to this!
Since it's all interstellar space anyway, why not check out gene serums?
Arya was shocked when she received the gene serum. Wasn't this level of purity reserved only for royalty?
"Come here, let me give you some more recipes, ancient fabrics and stuff. Even without power, you can't have money, can you?"
Ailiya had always thought of herself as just an ordinary engineer, but Lin Liuyi's actions made her suddenly realize the truth.
Good, she knows what to do next.
After receiving the supplies from Lin Liuyi, Aria took the child to Professor Dalacs.
The forest trail was more difficult than Arya had anticipated.
The morning dew dampened her boots, making a slight creaking sound with each step.
Perhaps a moment ago she would have thought these were sad sounds, but now she only finds them pleasant to hear.
Maxi and Lila followed behind her, the two children unusually quiet, only occasionally breaking the silence with the crisp sound of breaking branches underfoot.
"Mommy, how much further?" Lila asked softly, her little hands gripping Aria's clothes tightly.
Arya looked at the coordinate device that Dalarx had given her; the flashing red dot indicated that the destination was 500 meters ahead.
“Almost there,” she answered softly, while touching the pulse pistol hidden at her waist.
Maxi suddenly stopped, his eyes gleaming a distinct blue in the morning light.
“Someone’s there,” he said in a low voice. “Waiting in the open. Not Professor Dallax.”
Arya's muscles tensed instantly.
She crouched down to be at eye level with the children: "Remember our agreement. If there's any danger, Lila will immediately take Maxie and run to Uncle Hawke."
"But Mom—"
“No buts.” She kissed the two children on the forehead. “Now, follow me quietly.”
As they parted the last clump of bushes, the sight before them made Arya hold her breath—a streamlined silver spaceship was parked in the forest clearing, its hull etched with the insignia of the Augustan royal family.
The man standing in front of the spaceship made her heart pound violently in her chest.
Leon Augustus.
Six years have left obvious marks on him.
Her once smooth face now has a sharp, angular profile, with a few fine lines around her eyes, and a few strands of silver hair faintly visible in her black hair.
He was dressed in simple dark casual clothes, without any royal insignia, but his innate majesty was still overwhelming.
Leon's gaze passed over Arya and landed directly on the two children.
His lips trembled slightly, and his icy blue eyes—eyes just like Maxi's—flickered with an indescribable emotion.
Maxi suddenly stepped forward and stood in front of his sister.
The boy opened his small hands, and crackling sounds began to fill the air as faint blue arcs of electricity danced at his fingertips.
"Don't hurt my mom and sister." The seven-year-old boy's voice was childish yet firm.
Leon's reaction surprised Aria.
He slowly knelt down on one knee, bringing himself to the same height as the children, then took the phase gun from his waist, placed it on the ground, and pushed it forward.
“I would never hurt you.” His voice was low and gentle, his gaze shifting between Maxi and Lila. “I’m a friend of yours. Your mother knows me.”
Lila peeked out from behind her brother, her golden braids swaying gently with her movements.
“You’re the person in the photo,” she suddenly said. “Dad.”
This word struck everyone like an electric shock.
Arya's throat tightened, and six years of fear, anger, and loneliness surged within her.
Leon's expression was as if he had been struck by a bright light, a mixture of shock and barely suppressed joy.
“Clever girl,” he said softly, a suspicious glint in his eyes, “Yes, I am your father.”
Maxi remained vigilant, but the electric arc on his hand disappeared.
“Mom said you were far away.” He looked at Leon suspiciously. “Why are you only coming now?”
Leon took a deep breath. "Because it took me a long time to find you. And," he looked at Arya, his eyes pleading, "I need to make sure you're safe."
“Safety?” Arya finally found her voice, her tone sharp as a knife. “From whom? Your dear fiancée?”
Leon stood up, but didn't approach: "Of all the people, Arya Ster is just the most obvious threat."
He pointed to the spaceship. "We need to leave as soon as possible. The time Darax can buy us is limited."
"Where to?" Arya didn't move. "Another secret base? Another experimental field?"
“To the Land of Freedom.” Leon’s answer was unexpected. “A planet in a neutral star system, outside the Empire’s territory. There you’ll find people like me.”
Maxi suddenly grabbed Aria's hand: "Mom, he's telling the truth. I can feel it." The boy looked up, "Like a dream."
Lila nodded. "His thinking is clear, without all those noisy lies."
Arya looked at the two children, then at Leon.
Six years on the run made her instinctively suspicious of everything, but the children's abilities never failed her.
And now she no longer needs to run away in fear.
“We need reassurance,” she finally said.
Leon nodded and extended his palm.
To Aria's astonishment, blue light patterns similar to those of the children began to appear on his palms, but more complex and brighter.
Maxi and Lila were immediately drawn in and unconsciously walked forward.
“Give it a try,” Leon said softly to the children. “Just like you usually do, but try to be in sync with me.”
Maxi hesitated for a moment, then reached out her small hand and placed it on Leon's large hand.
Lila joined in. As their palms touched, a dazzling blue light burst forth, weaving into a complex web of light in the air, like some ancient symbol.
Arya took a step back, stunned by the sight before her—stars could be faintly seen moving within the net of light, like a miniature Milky Way.
