Chapter 12 Light Cone
Chapter 12 Light Cone
"Who...are we?" March 7th asked, somewhat puzzled.
"Sister Eve, didn't you tell him who we are?"
"No, it was too much trouble, so I just packed it up and brought it over," Eve said matter-of-factly.
"Uh..." March 7th was speechless.
She showed Alan her train ticket and said, "Hello Alan, we are members of the Starry Sky Train crew. My name is March 7th, and this is Eve."
Eve continued, "We were supposed to come to the space station to deliver the artifacts that Lady Black Tower was looking for, as per the agreement, but we received a distress message from the space station en route."
“A researcher once told me that you were trapped here and asked me to come and find you.”
"I see, you're from the train crew." Alan nodded from the air.
The ticket on March 7th's body is indeed a symbol of the Starry Sky Train.
"Why would the Antimatter Legion target you? I think their only targets are space stations; they seem completely uninterested in the planet's surface," March 7 asked, puzzled.
Alan shook his head and said, "I... I have no clue either. The legion's arrival was very strange. The station's defense system suddenly crashed, and those guys showed up not long after."
“Station Chief Está organized the evacuation of the staff immediately. I was supposed to be responsible for covering everyone’s evacuation, but I was careless in the end.” Alan said, his mood becoming somewhat low and his tone full of guilt.
“Don’t blame yourself, you’ve done a great job,” Eve comforted gently. “And we’re here. We’ve rescued most of the staff, and the Black Tower’s follow-up rescue team is coming soon.”
"You were injured, so you hid to avoid a direct confrontation with the legion. That was the right decision."
Eve's gentle tone eased Alan's guilty conscience considerably.
He said shyly, "Thank you, thank you..."
He suddenly felt as if he had encountered the gentlest of gods...
"Alright, alright, the most urgent thing now is to return to the main control section and organize a counterattack. We absolutely cannot let these pawns invade again!!" March 7th encouraged.
“Yes, I understand.” Alan nodded. “To prevent the Legion from attacking the main control module, access to the elevators and the repulsion bridge has been blocked.”
"This..." March 7th was suddenly a little troubled.
Just as Eve had said, but they arrived in a hurry and didn't get any authorization.
"Do you have the authority?" Eve asked.
Alan shook his head. "I don't have one either, but there's a spare access card in the control room that should be able to open the elevator."
“Central control room…” Eve thought for a moment and opened the map on her watch.
However, the terrain inside the space station was too complex, and it couldn't be found immediately.
“Take me with you,” Alan said. “I’m floating anyway, so I can show you the way.”
Eve thought for a moment, then nodded. "Okay."
"Little March and Little Star, you two wait for me here."
After Eve finished speaking, she and Alan disappeared in a flash.
"Sigh, Sister Eve has disappeared again." March 7 sighed.
Xing said from the side, "March 7th, it seems like we're being watched..."
"What?"
On March 7th, looking around, he discovered that the guerrillas had already surrounded him.
"Wait a minute, shouldn't the antimatter legions in the vicinity have been cleared out?" A big question mark appeared on March 7's little head.

Meanwhile, Eve led Alan through the space station at a rapid pace.
"Which way do we go next?" Eve asked.
"It's on the left, just past another transfer room," Alan said. "By the way, what about those flanks that were chasing us?"
"I don't know, maybe it's gone," Eve said after thinking for a moment.
“Oh.” Alan nodded.
Indeed, Eve's speed is so fast that even a pawn can't keep up.
Upon arriving at the transfer room, Eve suddenly noticed a card floating on the table, from which she sensed a strange power.
"What is this?" Eve asked curiously.
“That’s a light cone,” Alan said, glancing at the card. “It’s a technology from the Memory Garden of Flowing Light. It can carry memories with you; it’s a very powerful enhancement artifact.”
"The company spent a lot of money to buy the usage rights, but the source of this light cone is also legitimate."
“A marvel…” A smile suddenly flashed across Eve’s lips.
"Wait, what are you going to do?" Alan suddenly had a bad feeling.
"I think it's reasonable for me to take this artifact for self-defense, given the severity of the antimatter legion's invasion, as I can hardly withstand it on my own."
“This…” Alan hesitated.
"OK, thanks."
Before Eve could react, the light cone on the table vanished the instant she finished speaking.
"Hmm... So that's how it works. It's truly amazing technology. However, this light cone is only of blue quality." Eve played with the light cone in her hand, her eyes gleaming with knowledge.
"You can understand the principle of the light cone?" Alan was somewhat shocked.
Eve nodded slightly. "At present, we can only grasp some general theories. Memory is power, which is very similar to the abilities of wisdom and dreams... However, it will probably take a lot of time to make a replica."
The principle behind the Light Cone is to seal away memories. When used, the user gains access to the memories within the Light Cone to enhance their combat power. This is similar to her familiar, Lanaro, whose power increases with the amount of memories they possess.
"This...wow, this is amazing..." Alan was somewhat shocked.
To be able to analyze the principle of the light cone simply by touching it is truly amazing.
This person is incredibly strong in terms of both ability and skill. I never expected there to be such a capable person in the train crew.
"Let's go." Eve casually put the light cone away.
Although the light cone didn't provide much of a boost to her, it was still somewhat useful.
Alan nodded solemnly to the side.
The two quickly passed through the transfer room and arrived at the central control room.
“The access card is right here, isn’t it?” Eve raised an eyebrow.
“Yes, it’s in that storage box over there.” Alan pointed to the white cabinet in the distance.
Just as Eve was about to go, an arrow suddenly flew rapidly toward him.
"Watch out!! It's a trampling machine!!" Alan shouted anxiously.
Void Tramplers, a powerful unit of the Antimatter Legion, are the key to breaching the barriers of space stations; most security personnel have perished under their trampling.
Even the wounds on Alan's own body were from fighting against the tramplers.
As the arrow was about to strike Eve, Alan clenched his fists; his teammate had died from that sneak attack.
But then, a green, transparent barrier suddenly appeared behind Eve.
"The shelter of the forest".
The arrow struck the barrier hard, causing a violent explosion. When the smoke cleared, the green barrier remained completely intact.
"This!!" Alan stared at the scene in disbelief.
That arrow, imbued with immense power, could have pierced even a shield created by the strong interaction force, yet it was blocked with surprising ease.
The hidden trampling beings were also stunned by this scene.
I never expected that someone would survive my sneak attack.
It immediately tried to fire a second arrow, but at that moment, a chilling aura instantly spread throughout the entire area.
Eve's voice came coldly: "Ambush me? Are you prepared to pay the price?"
"Echoes of the Forest".
The moment the words left his mouth, the green beam of light instantly engulfed the trampler who was drawing his bow and shooting an arrow, annihilating him before he could even let out a final scream.
