Chapter 5 The Mission of Defending Morality
Chapter 5 The Mission of Defending Morality
"Congratulations to Iron Order, Thunderbolt Fortress has a worthy successor."
"This lad from your Qingcheng Sect is quite good, I like him very much!"
"Ha, the emergence of so many talented new talents in the martial arts world is a blessing for us all. Brothers, let's raise a toast!"
The three elders from different sects were not worried at all when they saw their disciples fighting. Instead, they watched with great interest, treating it as a fun activity to enjoy with drinks, and occasionally making a few comments.
He enjoyed reading the Iron Order of Thunderbolt Fortress the most. He always felt that his fortress lord was too cautious, keeping the young master in the fortress was like raising a maid.
How can a man grow into a true hero if he doesn't drink or fight?
Hey, especially fighting for a beauty! Heroes have always emerged from among the young, and beautiful women are always endearing. And let me tell you, this girl from the Qingcheng Sect is quite pretty. Win or lose, their young master is truly beginning to become a man.
After glancing at the elders who hadn't stopped them, Fei Xi stopped her junior brothers and sisters who were itching to do something.
The fight between the two could be considered a friendly exchange, but the situation was different for the other junior disciples. She calmly watched the two fight from upstairs to downstairs in the alley.
Most martial arts schools today primarily practice internal energy cultivation. Internal energy gathers in the dantian (lower abdomen), circulates through the body's meridians, and is then channeled outwards through the palms, fists, and legs. The same technique can have varying power depending on the depth of an individual's internal energy. The same principle applies to weapon techniques, such as those involving swords and sabers, except for differences in the materials used. Different internal energies incorporated into the weapon will produce different levels of power.
Aside from Shaolin, the top martial arts sects are Thunderbolt Fortress, which specializes in external martial arts techniques.
External martial arts differ from internal martial arts in that they focus on cultivating internal energy. External martial arts primarily train the physical body, aiming to overcome all techniques with sheer force.
Thunderbolt Fortress is renowned throughout the martial arts world for its Thunderbolt Fist, and equally famous for its disciples, all of whom are tall and imposing. They don't even need any weapons; their bodies are the most powerful weapons in the world.
The two young men in the alley already displayed the demeanor of experts.
Junior Brother Ji Zhongxuan was agile, his palm techniques were ever-changing, as unpredictable as flowing clouds. Each of his palms contained powerful internal energy, the palm wind howled, and his aura was imposing.
Iron Will, the young master of Thunderbolt Fortress, remained as steady as a mountain. His fist techniques were fierce and powerful, each punch like a thunderbolt, awe-inspiring. He responded to the Heavenly Gang Palm's attack with swift punches, fists and palms colliding, producing a dull thud.
The two exchanged blows, neither giving an inch. As time passed, both men's stamina waned, but their fighting spirit remained high. Finally, in a fierce clash, Ji Zhongxuan broke through the Thunderbolt Fist's defenses with a skillful palm technique, striking his opponent's vital point with a single blow.
"Junior brother, let's stop here."
Hearing the woman's voice from upstairs, Ji Zhongxuan stopped his attack. The young master of Thunderbolt Fortress, Tie Yi, was forced back several steps, and several Thunderbolt Fortress disciples immediately jumped down to protect him.
Tie Yi shoved aside the guard beside him, his face grim, and took two steps forward with his fists clenched.
Do you have to try again after losing?
Ji Zhongxuan braced himself for another fierce battle, but unexpectedly, the young man opposite him suddenly smiled:
"Hahaha, that's great!"
Tie Yi laughed loudly, this was the real fight, the exhilarating martial arts contest he truly craved!
He knew that coming out with Uncle Tie this time would be the right decision.
"What's your name? I'll remember you!"
"Ji Zhongxuan!"
"Alright! Ji Zhongxuan, remember this: my name is Tie Yi, and I will definitely defeat you in the future!"
"Hmph, bring it on anytime."
Seeing the other person's nonchalant attitude, Ji Zhongxuan didn't mince words, nor did he mock the other person's inferior skills. The two young men looked at each other, both seeing a sense of agreement in each other's eyes.
After making his statement, Tie Yi strode away from Zui Ke Xuan without looking back, followed closely by a group of people from Pili Fort.
Beautiful women don't run away, there's no need to rush. With women, rivals, and fine wine, Tie Yi began to look forward to life in Nanxuan City for the next year.

Inside the Qingcheng Sect's outpost, after settling her fellow disciples in, Fei Xi was walking through the corridor, preparing to go back to rest, when she was suddenly stopped by someone.
Inside the courtyard, Elder Yin of the Qingcheng Sect stood before a stone table, holding a whisk. On the stone table was a medicine jar, and next to it was a blue-and-white porcelain bowl.
"Uncle Yin, thank you."
Watching the girl in front of him drink the medicine from the pot without blinking, Yin Zhengyi took out a package from his sleeve and handed her some candied fruit he had prepared beforehand. The girl happily tore it open and immediately threw a piece of candied fruit into her mouth, smiling like a cat that had just stolen some cream, her eyes narrowed in enjoyment.
"Sometimes I wonder if your sense of taste has gone wrong, but then I see you eating sweets so happily, and it turns out you can still taste them."
"Uncle-Master, this is called 'bitter before sweet,' meaning that only by experiencing hardship can one truly appreciate the sweetness. Thank you for your kindness, Uncle-Master. I love sweet candied fruit!"
"Don't act so mature and worldly at such a young age. Girl, remember what your martial uncle said. People only notice the children who cry. Those who suffer will always suffer, while those who get candy will never lack it. Your martial uncle has to go back to the mountain tomorrow. It's not your place to worry about what's going on in the sect."
After listening to her uncle's words, Fei Xi realized that her sudden request to go down the mountain to join the righteous cause, and the reasons she gave to her master and the sect leader, had not fooled them.
I've troubled my elders again...
"...Uncle-Master, do you really have to leave?"
Do you know what the mission of upholding morality is about?
"The mission of upholding justice is a tight band that the old emperor put on the heads of us martial arts practitioners."
"Nonsense!"
She covered her mouth, which was always ready to say anything, and gave the other person a sharp rap on the head.
"There are no shortage of exceptionally intelligent and capable individuals in the martial arts world. Knowing full well that this is a trap, do you know why all the sects willingly jump into it?"
Before the girl could answer, Yin Zhengyi continued:
"In the martial world, killing is commonplace. Everyone lives a life of constant danger, but not everyone wants to live such a life of fear. If a sect wants to continue its lineage and its disciples want to live in peace, then the mission of upholding justice is necessary. But no one would be so foolish as to reveal all their cards to their superiors."
"So the mission of upholding justice has now become a testing ground for us younger generation?"
“That’s right! The man surnamed Lu wants to figure out the foundation of our entire martial arts world and keep all the disciples of all the sects under his control. But he doesn’t expect that we can do the opposite and use him to recruit more disciples. The mission of defending the righteous path can help us find the capable people and cultivate them into the backbone of the sect in the future.”
"...Uncle-Master, we're not even grown up yet, and you bunch of old monsters are pushing us out into the rain. Isn't that going too far?"
Before he could finish speaking, Fei Xi received another sharp rap on the head. Yin Daoren, still feeling young and unwilling to admit he was an old monster, coughed twice.
"In short, if anything happens, let your junior brothers and sisters handle it. You're still young, and the frail senior sister is there to protect you; you should stay behind them. The young master of Thunderbolt Fortress, Tie Yi, is an upright person you can befriend, but when dealing with Dongfang Rui from Xuehai Academy, have Wang Zhizhong and the others be extra careful."
"Okay, Uncle Master!"
Seeing the girl nodding vigorously, Yin Zhengyi rambled on and on for a while before finally letting her leave. He and Wei Xingjian, the founder of the Qingcheng Sect, were from the same lineage. When his family's Taoist temple was destroyed in the war, leaving him all alone, Wei Xingjian brought him, a young boy, to Mount Qingcheng, giving him shelter from the wind and rain. Knowing that he wanted to rebuild his family's temple, Wei Xingjian did not ask him to become his disciple. However, although they were not formally called master and disciple, they had the de facto relationship. Until the third generation disciple took over his position, he would remain in the Qingcheng Sect to protect the life's work of that person.
Autumn has passed and winter is here; the changing seasons bring changes to nature. Winter is quietly approaching, the sky has turned gloomy, and the cold wind is biting.
Holding the hot water bottle tightly in her arms, Fei Xi squatted in front of the charcoal brazier, unwilling to leave for even a moment.
It was so cold, so cold that it reminded her of many unpleasant things. In that place where it snowed all year round, even a priceless white fox fur coat couldn't ward off the bone-chilling cold.
"Senior Sister, please tell Senior Brother to stop paying attention to that young master of Thunderbolt Fortress."
A coquettish voice rang out as the door opened and closed, and a beautiful young woman walked in pouting. Anyone who saw her would know she was angry.
"Xiaofeng, what's wrong?"
“Today, a man selling steamed buns suddenly stopped us and demanded that we give him a wife in return. A few days ago, I saw him beating his wife on the street. I went up and said a few words to him, and his wife finally couldn’t bear to see him run away, so he’s now clinging to us.”
"Uh, this has nothing to do with Young Master Tie Yi, right?"
"It's him! Instead of staying put in the north, he came all the way here. He even said that a man wouldn't hit a woman unless he was heartbroken, and he blamed me for it, demanding that I help that bastard find his wife. He knows nothing, just spouting nonsense. It makes me so angry! Everyone in the neighborhood says that young woman is that bastard's childhood sweetheart, and he always beats and verbally abuses her. She finally escaped her misery, and I'm not going to be an accomplice to his evil deeds!"
"Senior Sister, I think we need to find that young lady."
Before anyone arrived, Ji Zhongxuan's clear voice came from outside. The door was opened again, and several figures walked in one after another.
"Senior Sister, look at them! I told you that the young master of Thunderbolt Fortress is not a good person. He has led Senior Brother to become unreasonable."
After glancing at her junior brother, Fei Xi had a guess, and she continued:
"I also think it's necessary to find that young lady."
"Senior Sister?!"
