Chapter 187 The Feeling of Being a Hero

Chapter 187 The Feeling of Being a Hero

"Why are you being so proactive today? You didn't have to wait for me to call you."

As previously arranged, Grandi brought the microphone in front of the control room to prepare to make a call. When he looked up, he saw that the Light Stone Warrior had already appeared on the monitoring screen, waiting for the experiment to be arranged.

Judging from the images on the screen, he exudes an unpleasant kind of confidence.

"Let's continue the same battle as the past few days. This time I'm absolutely confident."

"But repetitive battles can get a bit boring for both of us. How about we make a bet?"

"If I win the battle against Red King, you will return the other Light Magic Stone and let us leave. From now on, we will keep to ourselves."

"Why do you think I'll believe you? You're just a lucky human being. What do you have to offer me in a deal?"

Grandi looked at the characters on the screen with a sense of amusement. He had always been eager to unleash the potential of the Light Stone Warriors to add data to his experiments.

Grandi moved closer to the microphone and raised his voice, not believing that any human dared to challenge him.

“I know you don’t believe me, but I know you believe in Red King. You’ve always considered it your confidant, which is why you keep it by your side on all sorts of important occasions.”

“If you don’t want to take any risks, that’s understandable. You can simply replace Red King and let other monsters fight me…”

"You arrogant fool, today is the last day you can be so cocky."

[Combat Device, Activate]

The skeleton monster Red King re-entered the arena, completely unaware of the situation, thinking it was just another mission. However, before it could officially begin the battle, its master made it wait for the equipment to work for a moment.

Grandi was increasingly curious about what other abilities this human was hiding. Anyone who dared to challenge Red King was either a fool or a strongman, and so far Grandi had only encountered a bunch of fools.

Their fate was, of course, to be severely beaten by Red King, and never dare to be disrespectful in front of him again.

"Alright, I'll give you a chance to challenge me, human. If you win, I'll grant you any of your requests, provided you actually have the ability to show me."

Yixuan was overjoyed upon hearing this; his guess had been correct, and the plan was officially put into action.

"In contrast, if you lose, I will immediately destroy the Light Magic Stone in front of you."

Grandi wasn't joking. When Red King appeared, he had a special collar around his neck with another Light Magic Stone placed in the center.

Red King pounded his chest and roared in battle. He had just received instructions to take today's battle seriously, as his master seemed to value the outcome of this battle exceptionally.

Facing the fierce and violent Red King once again, Yixuan adjusted his breathing to calm himself down.

The chance for everyone to escape Monster Island safely is in their own hands, and every step Yixuan takes now is a charge towards regaining freedom.

Holding the Light Magic Stone in his hand, the light of heaven and earth condensed and moved at his will, conjuring up a white giant that appeared on one side of the battlefield. The battle to come would determine their future survival.

Yixuan had been observing the entire area, and combined with the guild's previous research on the island, he was certain that the world outside the walls was the vast ocean and sky. And the door to the outside world was located between the battleground and the prison cells.

Seeing that Red King still maintained a high level of offensive desire, Grandi felt relieved and left the control room to continue training the ant swarm and the war angels to cooperate. He had determined from the beginning that the human could not win.

Even if it were a real Ultraman, it wouldn't necessarily be able to defeat its own Red King, let alone a half-finished clone.

Based on recent research, Grandi has cracked the core technology of the Light Magic Stone, so he is well aware of the upper limit of his opponent's strength. It is only a matter of time before such blank giants are mass-produced.

Red King's actions became even more audacious. Every punch he threw was filled with destructive desire and arrogance. A single blow could create a crater, and if anyone failed to dodge in time, the consequences would be unimaginable.

The otherworldly monsters have become more reckless, indicating that the otherworldly beings have already left, just as Yi Xuan observed a few days ago. Red King only becomes so playful and lets his guard down when the otherworldly beings leave the base.

The time is ripe.

After confirming the situation, Yixuan stopped dodging and took the initiative to approach Red King, using a feint attack to lure him into continuing his attack.

Without a master to supervise him, Red King was simply a reckless brute, attacking without thinking and completely unaware that he was being led by his opponent.

What appears to be a mere brush past is actually a calculated design. Yi Xuan's accumulated experience allows him to handle the situation with ease, as he has already figured out Red King's basic attack methods.

After withstanding Red King's punch, Yi Xuan was knocked back and slammed into the wall. Through this collision, Yi Xuan had determined the strength of Red King's punch and the extent of the damage to the wall. A few more attacks would be enough to break through and reach the next room.

Red King, who loves to show off, jumped up and launched a flying kick. His massive body cast a huge shadow just by moving, but unfortunately, it missed and kicked a hole in the wall instead.

The geographical advantage is in place!

The giant of light, having created some distance, spread its arms in a straight line, with swirling, rising light flowing between its hands. A cross beam of light shot out, striking Red King squarely and blasting him and the wall away together.

Yixuan persevered through the grueling training sessions of the past few days. After reaching a high level of synergy with the Light Magic Stone, he achieved resonance and gradually came to understand the true power of the Giant of Light—this pioneering light that could sweep away all obstacles.

After revealing his hidden strength, Yi Xuan no longer concealed anything. For someone proficient in magic, using Ultraman's superpowers was like a fish in water. He summoned light energy once again, unleashing a barrage of shots that severed the system's circuitry, clearing a path for the giant with unstoppable force.

The people are here.

The unexpected Specium Ray caught Red King completely off guard. He couldn't understand how the usually loose and unassuming giant had managed to hide such powerful light energy until now.

In reality, Yixuan himself did not understand these moves. All his actions were inspired by the Light Magic Stone. When Yixuan activated the Light Magic Stone, his body seemed to merge with the light energy, allowing those unprecedented insights to enter Yixuan's mind.

Just as he stood up and patted the parts of his body directly exposed to the light, Red King, who was about to settle scores with the giant, was attacked by a fanged sea monster that had escaped. Its jagged teeth tore at Red King's arm, and his long-suppressed anger was about to be unleashed in a violent outburst.

With a punch that shattered the sea monster's abdomen, Red King, who was just looking for someone to vent his anger on, found a fool who had delivered himself to his doorstep. He swung his arm and pulled the sea monster to the ground, then kicked it hard, slamming its head into the wall.

Red King wasn't very bright, but even he was stupid enough to know he was in big trouble. Now was not the time to beat up the sea monsters and lose his temper. The only way to stop the riot on the island was to contact his master.

The venue was dimly lit due to a system malfunction. Red King, who was anxiously pacing around, was suddenly restrained by a chain. He remembered this thing; it was the giant's contraption.

Three more chains flew out from the opposite side, firmly binding Red King's limbs and binding him to the spot. With his hands and feet stiff, Red King looked up into the distance, where the giant was escaping after plotting against him.

Enraged, Red King roared in the direction the giant had fled, but this had no effect; instead, it only revealed his position and attracted more attention.

Behind Red King, a large group of sea beasts that had just escaped were filled with murderous intent. Their wild instincts made them hate the alien monsters that imprisoned them and they all held a grudge against the arrogant alien.

With the system now broken and the prisons no longer standing, the sea monsters feel their chance for revenge has arrived.

Sea beasts crawling out from all sides of the walls and below surged toward Red King, an otherworldly monster chained by beams of light, at his mercy.

A loud bang echoed, silencing the whispers of the crowd. Outside, the monsters roared incessantly. In this unfamiliar environment, the guild members dared not make any significant noise.

The dimly lit room was devoid of all light, and the sounds of monsters fighting echoed from all sides, piercing people's hearts, until Yixuan kicked the door open and brought a glimmer of hope to everyone.

"Come with me, quick, let's regain our freedom together!"

The base, built layer upon layer, could not possibly have been constructed solely to imprison a few humans. Originally a prison established by the alien alliance to study the monsters on this planet, it is now being used by Grandi as one of his initial strongholds, allowing him, a Reonic, to learn more about the monsters of this world.

Now, the entire base is being breached from within, and all the cages holding the sea monsters have lost power, giving the sea monsters a chance to fight back.

Unfortunately, most of the worker ants and soldier ants used for combat were called away by Grandi for anti-magic storm training, leaving the worker ants and a few soldier ants left at the base completely unable to resist the attack of the enraged sea monsters.

If it weren't for Yixuan's unfortunate accident that led all the sea monsters that had escaped to Red King's side, the worker ant colony would probably have suffered heavy casualties in the end.

The construction is in full swing and is gradually being realized. The entire base is now engulfed in flames, mixed with poisonous gas and collapses. Even just a few glances from the outside are enough to inspire fear.

"We finally escaped that awful place! Thank goodness! We need to hurry, or we'll be done for if those monsters catch up with us."

"But what should we do? Magic is disabled, so we can't contact the guild at all, and even if we did, it might not be enough..."

"Even if I have to swim, I will swim there. I would rather die than stay in this place any longer!"

The people, finally seeing the light of day again, had no time to appreciate the beach scenery. The roar of the monster behind them was a deadly threat to their souls. Human bodies alone were no match for the monster, and their only chance to escape was now.

"Everyone come over here, turn your backs and show me your restraint devices."

With a light tap of his palm, Yixuan effortlessly and completely resolved the troublesome issue that had been bothering everyone for so long. The speed and the profound reason behind his actions left everyone around him in awe.

"What kind of magic is this? I've never seen it before!"

"Yixuan, you're amazing! How did you do that?"

"Are you a god?"

With their nerves on edge and their minds scattered, destroying these restraint devices was no problem for Yixuan, who had just set the monster island ablaze. After regaining their magic, the group consisted of elites selected by the guild, and with their self-defense capabilities, they would certainly have a way to protect themselves.

In the brief excitement of regaining their power, no one cared why Yixuan had such abilities. In any case, the result was a happy one: everyone was free again, and the monster island was destroyed and burned. This was, of course, a satisfactory ending for everyone.

While everyone's gaze was fixed on the distant ocean, only Yixuan turned his head to look at the cage behind him. At this moment, his whole body was tense, and his expression was completely different from what Zimiao was used to.

"What's wrong, Yixuan? Is there a problem?"

Yixuan didn't turn around. To be precise, he really didn't dare to turn around. He didn't dare to look at Zimiao's face, for fear that it would make him hesitate even a little.

"I want to go back, to get the Light Magic Stone back, and to complete the task we were supposed to finish."

"That is my mission."

"Are you crazy, Yixuan? What do you want to do?"

"Why go back after finally escaping? Don't be foolish and show off, don't be impulsive!"

"I almost lost my life on a mission, there's no need to risk your life for the guild like this, let's go, Yixuan! We're begging you!"

"Yixuan..."

Without turning back or uttering a single word of rebuttal, Yixuan walked straight into that "purgatory" where monsters clashed.

Before Yi Xuan unleashed his miraculous magic, the hesitant crowd only vaguely heard this sentence:

"Please take good care of Zimiao..."

The exploding sparks eventually drowned out all sound, leaving only the fear of death for the creatures, driving them to desperately flee.

The worker ants were in a panic, and the soldier ants were anxious. Lacking a leader to command them, they were terrified of the flames and paced back and forth without any idea what to do.

Amidst the towering flames and the remains of sea monsters, only two colossal creatures moved slowly, facing each other amidst the burning and charred rocks.

The fearful sea beast, having sheathed its ferocious claws, dared not utter a word. It would occasionally turn back in terror at the demonic face behind it, its twisted mind filled with resentment, cursing, and questioning why its body didn't have two more legs so it could run wildly on land.

The lava slam shattered any hope the sea monster had, and a colossal beast with a charred body appeared, surrounded by flames.

Its restless red skin emitted deadly heat waves, its enormous arms seemed to be filled with molten lava and swelled, and the monster with its ferocious red eyes was now enraged. It could not control its anger and let destruction run rampant.

Enraged by the horde of sea monsters, Red King evolved into his EX Red King form and annihilated all the resisting sea monsters. Now, the EX Red King is driven by violent desires and will crush all the enemy monsters regardless of their identity.

Upon seeing Red King again, Yi Xuan finally witnessed Red King's true strength. Just by looking at him, he knew that he was no match for this monster.

However, the collar worn around Red King's neck was in grave danger. The outer material was being burned away by Red King's mutated skin. If they didn't hurry, the Light Magic Stone inside would be completely destroyed.

Yixuan was determined to retrieve the Light Magic Stone. He was prepared to die the moment he stepped into this inferno again.

The surrounding flames grew increasingly frenzied as EX Red King approached, and even though Yi Xuan had used all his light energy, he could only watch as the raging fire gradually engulfed him.

Red King attacked, not caring who he was fighting, whether it was a sea monster or a giant, they would all pay the price for provoking him.

The familiar attack method, the brutal threat of impending death, the unwavering counterattack, displaying an all-consuming will, all eyes fixed on that last Light Magic Stone...

Having grown up listening to stories of heroes, Yixuan finally felt like a hero on that day.

No one knows what happened when the last island exploded; the entire monster island was reduced to wasteland in a short time.

Grandi only learned about the base explosion after returning from training. He originally thought that Red King was just being angry and acting recklessly, but he didn't expect that his recklessness would escalate to the point of blowing up the entire island.

A few days after the investigators returned to Haiyun, a mage found Yixuan unconscious on the beach. He was barely clinging to life, clutching a golden light magic stone in his hand.

It was a miracle that he was still alive, given his numerous injuries. Almost everyone thought that Yixuan was no longer in this world... except for his lover who always believed that he would come home.
