Chapter 199 The War Is On!
Chapter 199 The War Is On!
With the return of otherworldly monsters, Haiyun Fortress has once again become a gathering place for monsters, and lawless violence permeates this land.
At the apex of this group of monsters, Grandi is now gazing at the sky, contemplating the universe.
Look down at the surface again, and take one last look at the monsters that fought for them.
A group of battle-worn creatures dragged their plundered spoils back home. The colorful magical ore, a treasure in the human world, was now being thrown into the wasteland by the monsters.
Countless monsters rushed in from all directions, carrying and dragging the supplies their masters needed, all of them pouring into the center of the Sea Cloud Fortress.
The monster had heard its master say that he would bring it true peace, that it would no longer be deceived or used, and that it would become the freest being in nature, no longer a tool in the eyes of humans.
The monster believed it wholeheartedly.
"Then do you believe me, Luo Yi?"
The officer's sudden question puzzled Luo Yi. He didn't know why the officer was asking such a question. He had always believed in the officer and believed that Grandi would uphold his justice.
“I have always believed in you, sir.”
Grandi almost laughed at Luo Yi's feigned seriousness, guessing he might have scared Luo Yi.
"Then are you willing to hear the truth about this world?"
"This could attack your beliefs, even hurt your mind, and completely refresh your understanding."
"At that time, you may feel that you will no longer be yourself."
Grandi deliberately spoke in a profound way, hoping that Luo Yi could be psychologically prepared. If he couldn't even accept abstract concepts, then the cruel reality would be a devastating blow.
Luo Yi remained silent for a while. Grandi did not rush him, giving Luo Yi enough time to think. However, it was hard to say whether the guys in the guild would give him that time.
"Reporting to the Guild Master, Grandi is piling up magical energy in the Sea Cloud. The mineral resources that were previously plundered are now all being piled up in the center of the Sea Cloud by the ant beasts. Grandi's intentions are currently unclear."
"Report: A group of otherworldly monsters has been spotted. They are approaching Haiyun and are suspected to be waiting for orders."
"Continue to monitor the situation, and urge the Haiyun Guild to bring all their weapons to the surface and prepare to fire."
The mountains surrounding Haiyun Fortress are now entirely occupied by humans and small beasts. Humans and monsters have joined forces to surround Haiyun and report the movements of the otherworldly monsters to other guilds at any time.
The Haiyun Guild, which had been underground for a long time, was full of energy. The mages, who had always taken it upon themselves to annihilate monsters, were highly motivated for this attack mission.
Humans would love to bomb all the otherworldly monsters into dust.
"They really aren't being polite at all."
Grandi looked at the restless hills around him and sneered inwardly. These mages were ridiculous, trying to win a self-deceiving victory with their self-righteous performance.
Boring as hell.
[Combat Device Activated:]
[Recall the Monsters: King Grass, King Panton, King Silvergon, King Goldras]
[Fusion activated, demonic energy charged]
At Grandi's command, every otherworldly monster, comparable to a natural disaster, transformed into cards that swirled in the air. These cards, each featuring a dynamic image of a monster, gathered in the center of the Sea Cloud Fortress, following the otherworldly magic circle, turning fantasy into reality.
The piled-up magical ore melted into streams of light, mixing with the vortex inside the fortress and becoming a boost to the rotation of the monster cards.
Magical energy from all over the world converges in a fortress built by monsters, is absorbed by otherworldly monsters that destroy the world, and is used by otherworldly beings who want to overthrow the world.
The fruits, imbued with the magic of nature, were now all transformed into firewood to burn the world.
"Urgent report! An anomaly has occurred in Haiyun. A strange stream of light is expanding, and the monsters are going berserk. Requesting attack orders!"
The heart-wrenching cries are a fear and warning of crisis; no one wants to see an apocalyptic catastrophe occur.
"Attack order approved. Target: Haiyun. Open fire!"
Without hesitation, the mage retaliated, showing no sympathy whatsoever for the monsters who colluded with Grandi.
Hundreds of shells imbued with demonic fire energy were launched from the surrounding mountains, giant birds dropped explosive munitions from the sky, and giant beasts obeyed commands to pull back and fire. The attack posture of mankind against the otherworldly monsters was completely clear.
"The ant colony should disperse. Haiyun is already a pawn to be discarded. Protecting your own lives is the most important thing. All ant beasts should evacuate."
"Baksim strikes! Superweapon monster attack!"
The anomaly that tore the sky apart was the appearance of a blue-orange monster. The monster, covered in sharp horns and armed with weapons and firepower, had its blue crystal-like eyes lock onto all incoming projectiles in an instant.
The fleshy, spiked hands made a sound as if they were being loaded with ammunition, and Baksim raised his arms to unleash a barrage of firepower like a machine gun turret.
The crackling of flames erupting from the ground, combined with the hissing roars of the monsters, turned all the hostile intrusions into ashes, raining down a gray shower of fire from the sky.
Before taking any rash action, be sure to think carefully about the consequences of your actions. Not everyone will tolerate your rudeness!
The rage in Grandi's eyes transformed into the battle cry of King Black's charge. A black monster that pierced through the mountaintop bared its fangs, its claws stomping the ground and causing an earthquake. All the small beasts that King Black considered enemies were buried underground.
The giant birds that dared to offend it engulfed themselves in flames, and several of them swooped down from the air to peck at the head of the otherworldly monster.
King Black sensed the killing intent in the air, his eyes turning bloodshot as he unleashed his power. The first giant bird that approached was sent flying through the mountainside with a single punch, then buried by falling rocks and vanished without a trace.
The next bird or beast that flew up was grabbed by the head and thrown to another hilltop, setting it ablaze. The remaining birds were nothing more than matches in King Black's eyes.
Baksim's suppressive fire and King Black's inferno plunged the mountains surrounding Haiyun into disaster. Their hostility toward the otherworldly monsters ultimately backfired on them.
Humans were fleeing, small beasts were screaming, and the courage that the Magic Guild had mustered was trampled underfoot by two otherworldly monsters. Grandi felt no joy at the sight; he only felt sorry for the monsters that the guild was using.
"The war has begun, Luo Yi. Time is running out. Tell me your answer."
"Don't be in such a hurry, Grandi. Your mindset has been disturbed by those humans. This is not like you."
Grandi's displeased expression caught Belial's attention. He only wanted to hear the truth about the world from Grandi. If Grandi was swayed by his emotions, he would miss the most accurate information.
"I... I think I'll pass."
"Oh, really? I'm reminding you, this is your only chance to know the truth about this world."
"I refuse, sir. I don't want to know the ending of the hero's legend through spoilers. I want to see more of the story."
Amidst the chaos and flames of the battlefield, Luo Yi calmly gave his answer. He didn't care about the state of the world; he only wanted to know more about the stories of heroes.
"I understand now. It seems we are not meant to be on the same path."
After hearing Luo Yi's answer, Grandi regained his composure. He looked at the fusion array beside him, which was now in its final stage.
Belial Twilight watched the scene before him grow increasingly frenzied. He sensed an incredibly powerful energy hatching, its desire seemingly to devour the entire world.
"Then I'll ask you one last question, Luo Yi. Let's use this as our farewell."
Would you like to be a hero just once?
Grandi looked at the boy in front of him. Luo Yi was not actually that mature. He was very innocent and romantic, always immersed in his own world, wanting to add more color to that world.
"I really want to be a hero, sir!"
"Are you willing to pay the price for this? Even if it means forgetting who you truly are?"
"I'm willing! I want to be the protagonist in a story!"
Grandi smiled with satisfaction upon hearing Luo Yi's words. He had obtained what satisfied him most: a pure wish that could not be obtained through countless battles and victories.
"The rest of the story will be yours to star in."
Grandi placed his hand on Luo Yi's shoulder, said his last words, and then pushed Luo Yi into the monster fusion magic circle.
