Chapter 48: The members of the Mutual Aid Society break through to 200 in talent!
Chapter 48: The members of the Mutual Aid Society break through to 200 in talent!
"Logan!"
Ian called out as he watched the figure recede into the distance.
The blond figure turned around and looked over with a surprised expression.
"Ian!"
Logan strode forward, patted Ian on the shoulder forcefully, and smiled.
Compared to a few months ago, he exudes a much more mature aura, and he now has a scar on his face.
"Logan, you've changed quite a bit!"
After the two separated, Ian smiled and looked at Logan.
"Haha, you're the same as you were three months ago!" Logan grinned, showing his teeth.
Ian smiled.
Three months have passed in the blink of an eye, and the time agreed upon by the members of the mutual aid association has arrived.
"Let's go inside and wait; they should be here soon."
Ian pulled Logan inside.
Sitting at the table, the two shared what had happened over the past three months.
"Colo and I were assigned to a white crystal mine within the school, where we are responsible for patrolling daily, driving away wandering wizards and some magical beasts in the forest," Logan said.
"A white crystal mine? Warcraft?"
Curiosity flashed in Ian's eyes.
Most of the magical beasts he had seen were the pets of wizards from various schools, as well as Mickey Mouse.
"What's it like outside?" Ian asked curiously.
Logan said, "The Emerald Forest is a forest where magic truly gathers, so there are many powerful magical beasts there, and many of them even come in groups."
"This scar on my face is from a pack of wind wolves that attacked the mine, and the leader of them even reached the intermediate level of zero ring."
The scar on my face was inflicted by a low-level, zero-ring wind wolf. I was lucky I didn't die, but two of the others who went with me died.
He touched the scars on his face, as if still shaken.
Ian was filled with emotion.
The terms "lower-level zero ring" and "intermediate-level" correspond to "first-class" and "second-class" wizards, respectively.
Even a mid-level monster with zero rings would be no match for him.
Choosing the Potions Department was definitely the right choice.
"But compared to the combat division, this is nothing!"
Logan said with a smile.
"The combat division is even more dangerous?" Ian asked, somewhat surprised.
"You'll see when you meet William!" Logan shrugged.
Then there was another knock on the door.
Ian went to open the door.
"Long time no see, boss!"
Koro was as flamboyant as ever.
"Come in."
Ian smiled, but suddenly noticed that there was more than one person behind him.
"William, Emily, Alfie."
Ian looked at the three people who came out with surprise.
William, clad in plate armor; Emily, exuding the scent of sulfur and alchemical products; and Alfie, his eyes hidden in his hood.
......
soon.
The group sat around the table in a circle.
At this moment, Ian seemed to relax a lot.
After joining the school, the group formed a mutual aid society and spent almost eight or nine months together.
The bond between them needs no further explanation.
"It's more comfortable being with everyone here, unlike the front lines," William said, sitting down in his chair and letting out a sigh of relief.
"Yes, the alchemy department spends all their time assisting those novice alchemists with processing materials; they're practically addicted to it."
Emily stuck out her tongue and complained.
Alfie nodded in agreement.
At this moment, Ian looked at William and asked curiously, "William, how's it going at the front?"
William took a deep breath, his voice muffled.
"The combat squad I joined was on the edge of the battlefield, but of my teammates who joined at the same time, I am the only one still alive. Even my captain, a newly promoted second-level wizard apprentice, has been replaced once."
William didn't say much, but he fully conveyed the brutality of the battlefield.
"But according to Vivian's witchcraft, this is just the beginning!"
Ian felt somewhat dazed.
He realized he had underestimated the war.
This is a complete meat grinder.
The best way to stay safe is not to get involved.
"Therefore, it needs to be placed in the cultivation sequence!"
Ian thought to himself that perhaps only a cultivation sequence could provide a relatively safe guarantee.
Just like Mickey said.
Those who don't enter the cultivation sequence are just cannon fodder.
"However, there are many crises, but also many opportunities. Although I am just an ordinary combat squad, I can probably earn five or six magic stones a month by eliminating enemies and completing missions."
William said.
"It's really good." Ian nodded.
The benefits are indeed quite good!
He has even surpassed the core departments and is almost on par with his junior pharmacist.
The core combat units are probably better off.
But Ian wasn't tempted at all; it was a matter of risking his life.
He has a panel and a talent system; he can improve as long as he follows the steps. Why take such a risk?
William's lips twitched at the sight of Ian's uninterested gaze.
Their leader hasn't changed at all in three months.
"What about you, Emily?" Ian turned to look at Emily.
"I'm currently an alchemy assistant, and I haven't even had a chance to do any actual alchemy yet. I estimate it will take several years before I have a chance to become a junior alchemist!"
Emily was helpless.
Similar to the Potions Club, alchemy is something that takes time to learn, especially since she has only just begun.
"Ian, how are you?"
Emily turned to look at Ian, and only then did everyone's attention turn to Ian.
"Everything is normal. I've just been promoted to junior pharmacist!"
Ian didn't hide anything and spoke frankly.
"Junior Pharmacist?"
Emily's eyes widened as she noticed the star on the badge on Ian's chest.
I gasped.
The novice pharmacist didn't know, but she knew how difficult it was to become a novice alchemist.
Pharmacology is no simpler than alchemy.
Hiss!
Both Koro and Logan were shocked.
There was only one junior pharmacist at the mine, who worked like an old man every day.
They even had to beg for help to prepare the medicine.
"Ian...you've really pulled off a big one without making a sound! Frontline pharmacists are incredibly rare!"
William also felt a tingling sensation in his teeth!
The fighting on the front lines is fierce, and people are getting wounded every day. Many of them have to rely on pharmacists, but there are too few pharmacists on the front lines.
The original plan was that they would make greater progress on the front lines, while Ian would stay in the safe rear, still in the Potions Department.
Development might be slower, but the reality is quite the opposite.
That's outrageous!
In an instant, everyone's gaze toward Ian changed again.
It felt like going back to a few months ago.
Ian is still Ian, still firmly in control of them, still the head of the mutual aid society!
......
The mutual aid society gathering lasted all night.
The crowd then dispersed.
Before parting, Ian promised to prepare some medicine for everyone, charging only the cost price.
So over the next three days, he prepared one dose of each of the four types of medicine he knew and gave them to several people.
Ian didn't feel like he was wasting time.
In this cruel wizarding world, having a few close friends is more important than the time wasted.
However, after the others left, Ian's time became even more tight.
Through conversation, the brutal and bloody reality of war was laid bare before him.
If he doesn't want to live a precarious life on the battlefield in the future.
Therefore, a culture sequence is necessary.
He must reach the level of either intermediate pharmacist or second-class wizard.
In the blink of an eye.
Another week has passed.
"Secondary sedative potion breakthrough to Master level, talent +5."
"Talent: 195 → 200".
Talent level surpassed 200!
