Chapter 55 Granger's Investment, the Unsung Hero Ian
Watching Ian's skillful movements.
Whether it's the timing of adding materials or the mastery of material integration, it's already beyond what someone who has only been learning for a week would expect.
Because Granger had seen what Ian looked like a week ago.
The contrast makes this feeling even more pronounced.
"This is boring!"
For a moment, Granger found pharmacy utterly boring.
What happened to the promise of countless configurations and technical refinements, and then painstakingly improving the success rate bit by bit?
Isn't this cheating?
"You can configure it yourself from now on. You can come see me once every three days and I'll give you some guidance."
Granger said.
The time was shortened from seven days to three days.
"Thank you, Wizard Granger."
Ian expressed his sincere gratitude.
Without guidance, it would probably take him more than a month to improve a potion to the master level.
However, with guidance, the timeframe could probably be reduced to one month.
"Next, I need to quickly upgrade the Lesser Energy Potion to Master level. I just wonder how much talent points it will increase!"
Ian's eyes were full of anticipation.
If all goes well, he should be able to upgrade all his advanced potions to the master level in four months.
There will be at least six months left by then.
This should be sufficient to meet the requirements for an intermediate pharmacist.
As far as he knew, intermediate-level pharmacists should also need to meet certain conditions regarding configuration and the transmission of witchcraft.
The latter might be a master by then.
The former should be able to complete the task within the stipulated time, provided there are sufficient resources.
"So time is the only thing that can stop me, and at the same time I need to improve my mental strength."
Ian's eyes narrowed slightly.
They initially thought Doug and his group had temporarily abandoned their targeting of him, but little did they know that Vivian had simply passed those targets on to other wizards.
In particular, I learned about the Potions Strategic Support Office.
Therefore, one still needs to improve one's abilities. Only when one reaches the level of a second-class wizard can one truly have the power to protect oneself.
"Let's upgrade it to second-tier talent first."
Ian's eyes flickered as he enhanced his advanced potion and his talent at the same time.
He hoped to raise his talent to level two before learning all four advancement potions.
"Second-class!"
Ian's eyes were full of anticipation.
Previously, upgrading from level four to level three involved 50 points, but upgrading from level three to level two required a full 100 points.
He had a vague feeling in his heart.
This upgrade will far surpass the previous one.
.......
at the same time.
the other side.
Inside Doug's laboratory.
Doug looked at Baker standing in front of him, his dark vertical pupils emitting a faint light.
"Baker, how much mental runes have you condensed yet?" Doug asked.
"Thirteen already," Baker said.
"Thirteen!"
Doug nodded, quite satisfied.
While balancing his studies as a pharmacist, his progress in mental energy is actually quite good.
At this point, it had been one year and two months since Beck entered the school, leaving only ten months.
At this rate, Baker should be able to advance to a second-class wizard apprentice within a year.
But when he thought about the news he received today that Ian had entered Granger's laboratory, he realized that Ian was already inside Granger's lab.
I suddenly felt annoyed.
The Potions Strategic Support Division is one of the core components of the Potions Department for the next few years, and he must secure this position.
Doug shook his head and said.
"You should stop preparing the potions now. I will also provide you with some mental potions so that you can advance to the second-level wizard apprentice level within eight months and enter the training sequence."
"I understand, but I don't know anything about Potions either..."
Baker frowned.
Because he felt that even if he managed to do both, Ian was still not someone he could catch up to.
The difficulty level for intermediate pharmacists is quite different from that of junior pharmacists.
Just as I was about to give it a shot, I saw Doug's cold and indifferent eyes.
Baker felt a chill run down his spine.
"Yes, Minister!"
He spoke with a slight movement in his throat.
Doug nodded in satisfaction.
After Baker left.
Doug stepped outside and looked at everything in the Potions Department, feeling completely at ease.
"Sooner or later, this place will all be mine."
Doug's gaze was deep as he turned and went back.
......
Time passes little by little.
Ian's life still revolves around being at home and going back and forth between laboratories, except that Granger's laboratory has been added to his life.
Granger also discovered a horrifying problem.
At first, he could guide Ian, but as three days passed, Ian's progress was simply astonishing.
A week later.
He felt that Ian's skills were at the level he had practiced for two or three years.
Two weeks later.
He felt that Ian's skills were comparable to those of a seasoned pharmacist.
Three weeks later.
He felt that Ian's skills were already on par with his own.
After that, he knew nothing more.
Because Ian only showed him this much, the questioning in the last few days, though seemingly questioning, was more like going through the motions.
But this performance was enough to make him place a big bet.
"Brother Ian, I'll take care of the rest of your advancement potion recipes for you." Granger patted Ian on the shoulder.
The way they addressed each other changed from Ian to "Brother Ian" without them even realizing it.
"Isn't this too extravagant!"
Although Ian wanted it, he couldn't help but ask.
Granger gave a half-smile.
"There are different kinds of pharmacists, bro," Granger said with a laugh.
"Once you become an intermediate pharmacist, you can establish a laboratory and extract a portion of the profits from it!"
Ian was immediately startled.
He had no idea that intermediate pharmacists received such benefits.
No wonder I didn't see any other intermediate pharmacists in the laboratory in Hal.
It turned out to be the case.
Moreover, the school produces such a large quantity of potions every day that even a small amount is enough for an average wizard to survive well.
They have completely broken free from social class.
"So even if it's not just for training your sequence, you still have to strive to become an intermediate pharmacist."
Granger now understood why Vivian had suddenly summoned him that day.
It turns out it was all to get him to help train Ian.
"If you have any questions in the future, you can come and ask me. You don't need to come at a fixed time anymore."
Granger stretched, his bones cracking.
"Thank you, Lord Granger."
Ian expressed his deep gratitude.
.........
In the blink of an eye.
A week has passed.
"Secondary Energy Potion Breakthrough to Master Level, Talent +8."
"Talent: 215 → 223".
"It improved by eight points."
In the lab, Ian's eyes lit up.
Not many, but not few either.
If Ian finishes learning the remaining three advanced potions, he should be able to reach 249 points, which is only 1 point away from 250 points.
a step far.
"It's getting closer and closer."
Ian was breathing rapidly.
This time, he truly felt that his second-class talent had become something tangible and visible.
In the laboratory, Ian picked up the recipe for a minor magic potion and began to study it.
One day later.
It's another January meeting.
Logically speaking, Ian should already be sitting in the third row, since the standard for a senior junior pharmacist is to be proficient in preparing at least one advanced potion.
But Ian still quietly sat in the last row.
Unknown.
He seemed to be just an ordinary member of the Potions Club!
