Chapter 1021: The Agors of Iberia
Chapter 1021: The Agors of Iberia
A young man in a blue windbreaker walks on the streets of Granfalo Town.
In this dimly-hued town, his figure seemed somewhat out of place. His clean and bright windbreaker rose and fell slightly with his steps. Under his dark jeans, a pair of somewhat old but carefully clean leather shoes stepped on the town's stone pavement, making a series of crisp footsteps.
The young man lowered his head to organize his gray briefcase. A gust of wind blew in his face, ruffling his short blue hair.
"Hmm, it's windy. Is it going to rain again?"
The young man glanced at the umbrella tied to his briefcase and breathed a sigh of relief.
If I were stuck in the chapel because of the rain, I would probably have to trouble Uncle Tiago to pick me up again.
Thinking about something, the young man quickened his pace and headed towards the chapel in the center of the town.
He is an Agor, an Agor living in Iberia. His job is to clean the chapel and sometimes he also helps workers in the town who are injured at work to treat their injuries.
Life wasn't easy, but it wasn't bad either.
After all, his Uncle Tiago is the mayor of Granfalo…
The young man, with something on his mind, walked quickly into the chapel.
"Little Jody, you finally came. I thought you wouldn't come in this weather today."
Outcast sat on a chair in the chapel and turned back to give the young man a warm smile.
Jody was obviously not used to Outcast's enthusiasm and said shyly:
"Ma'am, this is my job. You should hurry up and get back to the hotel before it rains."
"Of course grandma also wants to go back to the hotel, sit behind the window with a cup of hot tea in her hand and watch the rain soak the town."
Outcast showed a melancholy expression: "But grandma still has work to do, so she has to wait for people here. It's all grandma's own fault. Every time I think about how I dared to use the power of little Eureka, I regret it so much that I sit up and slap myself in the middle of the night."
"Ah...this..."
Jody was stunned. With his personality, he had no way of handling this kind of topic.
"I'm just kidding, grandma. I'm not the type to blame myself." Outcast laughed and waved his hands.
Jody remained silent.
He thought the lady was lying. Although he was an introvert, he was very good at observing other people's subtle emotions.
"Ma'am, is this why you were waiting for someone in the chapel?" Jody whispered. "I hope I'm not disturbing you."
"That's not the case. I chose the chapel only because it is a characteristic building of Glenfarlow, and the chances of waiting for people are higher."
Outcast crossed his legs and pouted his lips in disdain, "Pray? To whom? To the Lateran Law? If praying to the Lateran Law could save this land, why would there be so much suffering?
Of course, I am not disrespectful to the law, I am still the most devout believer, but if I must pray, I would rather pray to Xiao Qiyan."
Jodi's eyelids twitched as he listened to Ms. Sakta's unorthodox remarks.
He didn't know who Qi Yan was, but he knew that if a Sakta said something like this, if other Sakta heard it, there would definitely be a conflict.
Trying hard to put the conversation between the two of them into the corner of his mind, Jody skillfully put down his briefcase and went to the corner of the chapel to pick up the cleaning tools.
"Little Jody, something unusual must have happened in Granfalo."
Outcast asked suddenly.
Jody's movements paused for a moment, barely perceptible.
He quickly recovered as usual, and chuckled without turning his head:
"I don't know what you're talking about ma'am."
"If I remember correctly, the ban in Iberia has been in place for a long time, but why would the ocean currents send an empty fishing boat back?"
"..."
Jody couldn't answer.
This is a topic that cannot be touched.
Because of the popularity of the new type of pets some time ago, too many desperate businessmen chose to ignore the ban of the Inquisition, and the result is that the Inquisition is now completely stationed in Granfalo.
Jordi is an Agor, an Agor living in Iberia.
He was almost taken away by the Inquisition because of this incident, even though he had no involvement in those things at all.
"I'm sorry, grandma, I said the wrong thing."
Outcast smiled and apologized, ending his attempt.
Jody swept the chapel floor in silence.
The atmosphere in the chapel also fell into a depressing silence as Jody remained silent.
Outcast sat on the chair, looking up slightly at the towering statue of the saint at the front of the space.
Jody didn't know if she was praying silently in her heart. After quickly finishing her cleaning work, she picked up her briefcase again and walked towards the door.
The door opened, and the damp and cold wind outside whistled into the chapel.
Jody looked at the dark clouds that were already overhead, then looked back at Outcast.
He retracted his steps, walked back to Outcast's side, took off the umbrella from his briefcase and handed it to him:
"Ma'am, please accept this umbrella. I don't think the rain outside will stop any time soon."
"how about you?"
"Even though Uncle Tiago knew I had an umbrella, he still came out to pick me up."
Jody smiled, and the few freckles on his face made his smile even gentler, like a big boy next door.
His pointed ears twitched twice, and his golden eyes looked towards the open chapel door.
A water stain appeared on the stairs in front of the chapel, followed by a second spot, and then countless raindrops fell from the sky.
"Good boy, put away your umbrella yourself."
Outcast stuffed the umbrella back into Jody's hands. She stood up, adjusted the brim of her hat, and walked gracefully into the pouring rain.
When Jody opened his umbrella and wanted to chase after him, he found that the other person had disappeared in the rain.
"Hey?"
Jody was a little confused by Outcast's sudden disappearance.
At this time, four brightly colored figures that were out of tune with the rain came trotting towards the chapel.
Jody quickly made way for the four strangely-looking girls to come in and take shelter from the rain.
"Thanks."
"Huh? The Sakota we just saw was running really fast."
"Of course. Who would stroll leisurely in such heavy rain? We should follow their example and run."
"Seeing the figure running in the rain, I suddenly have the urge to sing!"
The four girls simply thanked them and immediately resumed their discussion.
Jody glanced at the packages in their hands and roughly guessed that they were probably a band.
One of the girls with long pink hair shook the rain off her clothes and suddenly looked at Jodi with curiosity.
Being stared at so boldly by a girl, the introverted Jody suddenly felt like bugs were crawling all over his body.
"Hello..." Jody greeted shyly.
"Hello, Agor, my name is Aya."
The pink-haired girl returned the greeting and continued to inquire, "Do you know what is happening here?"
Jody was confused by this nonsensical question.
Seeing his reaction, Aya said to herself regretfully:
"You don't know. You are not a child of the sea either. You are an Agor born on land."
Jody was not good at socializing, and when he met this kind of riddle teller who liked to talk to himself, he felt so embarrassed that he wanted to find a crack in the ground to crawl into.
But what happened next made Jody even more panicked.
In front of Jodie's shocked gaze, Aya actually took the initiative to move closer to him. Their faces were so close that Jodie could clearly see every detail of the girl's fair face.
Jody felt a sense of inexplicable fear.
He felt that the girl in front of him... was not human.
"Sir, the smell is not coming from you."
Aya suddenly stepped back and reminded him seriously: "Then you must be extra careful in the days ahead."
