Chapter 1029: Troublemakers Are Everywhere

Chapter 1029: Troublemakers Are Everywhere

Tiago opened the door of his house.

What caught my eye was the cold and silent interior of the house.

"Jody!"

Thiago's shouts received no response, and the old man's face was full of panic.

He searched the house for his nephew like a madman, but was doomed to find nothing.

"No, Jody, no way, you're going to be fine!"

Thiago stumbled a little as he rushed into the last enclosed space of his home.

The humid steam had not yet completely dissipated, and Tiago realized that someone had used his bathroom.

His eyes wandered, finally landing on a basin of water where a set of unfamiliar clothes were soaked.

Those weren't Jody's clothes, and they weren't his either.

Thiago's panic eased a little when he realized that Jordi was not taken away by someone who suddenly broke into his home, but left the house because he met someone.

Only then did he remember the uncle and nephew's usual habits, and hurried to the kitchen to look at his own refrigerator.

A sticky note was stuck on the top of the refrigerator, with a line of neat handwriting written on it.

'Uncle, I have a friend who is in trouble. I am going to help him. Please don't worry about me.'

"Jody..."

Tiago rubbed his brows with a headache.

He knew that it was normal for his nephew to behave in this way, but Granfalo was different now. There were too many dangers lurking in the dark, waiting for their chance to strike.

"No, I can't let Jody get into danger. I must...find a way to attract the attention of the Inquisition."

Thiago's once wavering thoughts finally took shape.

He tore off the sticky note, tore it into pieces, burned it into ashes with a match and flushed it all down the drain.

After doing this, Thiago quickly left his home.

Not long after he walked out, Tiago saw a group of frightened townspeople walking towards him.

"Thiago, something happened!"

A townsman said nervously: "A lot of strange things suddenly appeared in the town, like fungus blankets, spreading everywhere. They seem to be living things."

Another townsman added: "Not only that, there are many monsters. Monsters suddenly broke out in the town from nowhere."

Thiago clenched his fists subconsciously.

He tried his best to remain calm and told these people:

"Notify everyone immediately and ask them to return to their homes and avoid any contact with anything that suddenly appears.

As long as...as long as you hide, you will be safe. I will report these circumstances to the Inquisition now."

The townspeople looked at each other, and none of them dared to believe that they would be safe if they hid.

"Hide, trust me." Tiago said in a serious tone, "I won't let anyone hurt you. I will protect this town. Neither they nor the Inquisition can do that.

I will definitely protect all of this, and no one will continue to harm this town. This is... this is the last thing I need to protect besides Jody."

"Thiago..."

The townspeople were a little nervous as they looked at Tiago, who had a calm face but a hint of madness in his eyes.

"Go back, everything will be fine." Tiago tried his best to keep his tone calm.

The townspeople didn't dare to argue anymore, they lowered their heads and quickly fled.

Tiago turned and walked towards the town center square, but he didn't get far before he was stopped by a group of townspeople again.

"Go home, as long as you hide you won't be in any danger." Tiago repeated.

The townspeople looked at each other, and finally one of them stepped forward and said:

"Thiago, we are not considering whether there will be danger now."

"what?"

"Where's Jody?" the townsman inquired.

Tiago's eyes suddenly became fierce: "What do you want to do to Jordi?"

Facing Tiago's gaze, the townspeople showed no fear and said confidently:

"We all know the style of the Inquisition. After this incident, Granfalo will definitely be purged like it was that year. This time, there is only one Agor in the town."

"You want to push Jordi out as a scapegoat to dispel the suspicion of the court?" Tiago laughed in anger, "You want to sacrifice a child you watched grow up?"

"Jody is from Agor. No matter what we do, he will eventually be taken away by the Inquisition."

The townspeople tried to persuade Tiago: "You know very well that the Inquisition will not let the Agor people go. Even if you try your best to hide him now, he will not be able to escape the Inquisition's search."

"Shut up!"

Tiago cursed: "You are a bunch of rubbish, you are just idiots who stick your heads in the ground and deceive yourself when you encounter problems!

When Marin and Jody's parents led workers to repair the Eye of Iberia and rebuild our homeland, where were you? When Marin was captured by the Inquisition, where were you?

If you don't become the heroes of this town, no one will ask anything of you. I won't point fingers at you if you turn a blind eye to the misfortunes of the heroes who built this town. But what do you want to do now?

You want to push the orphans of heroes out to sacrifice in order to save your own lives, you are a bunch of ticks that can't wait to pounce on others and suck their blood!"

The townspeople looked unhappy after being scolded by Tiago, but no one chose to leave.

The leading townsman stepped forward and said, “No matter what you say, Jody’s fate will not change.”

"You want to find Jordi?" Tiago raised his fist and hit the townsman hard in the face. "Dream on! Don't even think about hurting Jordi!"

The townsman was hit and staggered. The pain made his expression become ferocious:

"Mad man! Everyone come together, even if Jody is not here, this guy who adopted the Agor people is enough!"

Tiago was so angry that he couldn't speak. He just raised his fist and rushed towards the townsman again.

But this time, a large number of townspeople rushed forward and pinned Tiago down.

"The Inquisition, hahaha! The Inquisition!"

"Look what you have done!"

"You took away the heroes who gave everything for Iberia and Granfalo, and left these bastards behind!"

Thiago was pressed to the ground by the crowd, veins bulging on his forehead, and he shouted angrily and cursed everything.

"Quickly shut his mouth and don't let him bring people from the Inquisition here now!"

The leading townsman covered his face and growled nervously.

Tiago's throat was strangled and a ball of cloth was finally stuffed into his throat, which completely blocked his final struggle.

His body was dragged and thrown into his own home.

Tiago heard the sound of something heavy pushing against the door.

He lay on the cold floor, no longer even having the desire to be angry.

"It seems you have made up your mind."

A voice suddenly came, causing Tiago to subconsciously look up at his living room.

A dazzling halo appeared in his sight. Sakota, wearing a Rhodes Island uniform, sat on a chair and wiped his guardian gun.

Outcast chuckled and continued:

"You wavering person, the Deep Sea Church will not force you to side with them, because the Bishop of Liberi understands human nature very well.

She just needs to wait quietly until you, the person who protects the town, are pushed to the opposite side of humanity by the townspeople you protect."
