From Evil Sect Leader to Doctor

Chapter 641 - 612: Leave of Absence Without Pay

Chapter 641 - 612: Leave of Absence Without Pay

"Which doctor said that? Am I the only one who sent flowers to your son? How on earth did you manage such a huge business without using your brain? Do you think I poisoned your son by sending flowers? Why are others fine and only your son is affected?"Hua Zhuyue said, "Exactly, it doesn’t make any sense."

Han Tai said, "I’ve already had the flowers sent for testing. If they prove to be poisonous..."

Xu Chunliang said, "You won’t be able to prove it, even if they are poisonous, your son has already absorbed it all."

Han Tai was dumbfounded, what did this guy mean? Did he just admit to poisoning? He turned to look behind him; the six cowards from before were nowhere to be seen.

Xu Chunliang turned the conversation, "However, I do have a way to ease your son’s pain. The ointment from our Huichun Hall is famously effective. It’s a pity you didn’t find me in the first place. If I had stepped in, your son’s leg would have recovered completely within a month."

Han Tai thought to himself, "You’re just blowing smoke. My son’s femur is fractured, with a metal plate in place; it can’t recover in less than three months."

Hua Zhuyue purposely reminded Xu Chunliang, "Chunliang, President Han didn’t mention anything about the leg. He said his son’s allergy was caused by you."

Xu Chunliang said, "If you have evidence, go ahead and sue me. Without it, stop your baseless accusations. Han Tai, our Old Xu Family has practiced medicine for generations. We only save lives; we have no interest in harming people."

Hua Zhuyue almost wanted to laugh, he probably wasn’t so innocent. The temple is right next door; isn’t he afraid the Buddha will hear his nonsense?

Han Tai said, "I’ll get to the bottom of this, I definitely will." Despite his defiant words, fear had already crept into his heart. Xu Chunliang was too difficult to deal with. No wonder his son suffered at his hands twice; even he couldn’t handle him.

Xu Chunliang said, "You can take your time investigating, but your son’s condition seems to be getting worse, doesn’t it?"

Han Tai wore a forlorn expression, recalling his son’s unbearable itching; he couldn’t help but feel heartache. He had come here so aggressively, wishing he could have beaten Xu Chunliang up. But seeing Xu Chunliang’s barehanded rock-splitting technique, his hired thugs scattered like birds and beasts. What the hell is up with these guys? They didn’t have any professional ethics.

Han Tai was very aware he couldn’t take on Xu Chunliang, unable to beat or out-talk him. The wise choice was to leave, get his son’s ailment treated, and live to fight another day. With my wealth, I, Han Tai, could eventually bury you in money.

Han Tai turned to leave, but after only a couple of steps, Xu Chunliang said, "You do look quite pitiful. Although your son’s illness isn’t my doing, I do have a remedy."

He turned to Hua Zhuyue, "As a doctor, one must have a parental heart. My biggest flaw is being soft-hearted."

Hua Zhuyue tried hard not to laugh. This guy is too good at acting.

Han Tai didn’t want to engage with him, but recalling his son’s tragic state, he had to stop.

Xu Chunliang said, "Our Huichun Hall’s secret Cool Ointment is incredibly effective against itching. It works right away, delivering instant relief."

Han Tai gritted his teeth, "How much do you want?" He was reasonable enough to realize that Xu Chunliang wouldn’t give him the antidote for free. If he could alleviate his son’s suffering, he didn’t mind paying.

Xu Chunliang said, "Today, you insulted the nurses at Changxing Hospital and injured Director Tang of the nursing department. You owe them a public apology."

Han Tai said, "No way!" He left quickly, but his head was hung low.

Hua Zhuyue watched Han Tai’s back and said, "He’s really both stubborn and tough."

Xu Chunliang said, "Don’t worry, it won’t be long before he comes begging." Raising his voice, he said, "If you regret it, just post a public apology video on the platform."

Xu Chunliang was right; Han Tai’s stubbornness didn’t last three hours. Han Wensheng was itching so badly he was beside himself. Changxing Hospital’s dermatologists tried everything, but nothing worked. Even the head of dermatology suggested he try Huichun Hall, as their Cool Ointment was particularly effective.

Only then did Han Tai remember Xu Chunliang’s words from the afternoon. With reluctance, he called Xu Chunliang again, but Xu Chunliang simply ignored him.

With no other option, Han Tai finally decided to record a video apology and posted it online, publicly apologizing to Tang Mingmei and the young nurse.

Shortly after Han Tai’s apology video was published, Xu Chunliang had someone deliver the Cool Ointment to Han Wensheng’s hospital room.

With a try-it-and-see attitude, Han Wensheng applied the Cool Ointment, and as Xu Chunliang had said, it provided immediate relief.

The father and son, while grateful, also pondered the situation. If even dermatology experts couldn’t resolve the issue, and yet Xu Chunliang’s few boxes of Cool Ointment worked, it wasn’t so much Xu Chunliang’s skill as it was proof that the itching had been caused by him.

Han Wensheng gritted his teeth and said, "He definitely poisoned me. I have to sue him!"

By this point, Han Tai had regained some sense. He sighed, "Don’t let your imagination run wild. Let’s heal first."

Anyone can talk tough, but not many have the courage to follow through. Xu Chunliang was undoubtedly such a person.

Han Tai looked at the few boxes of Cool Ointment, which didn’t even have labels, and quickly made up his mind to transfer his son to another hospital. Tang Tianyi was a jinx. If it weren’t for his association, his son wouldn’t have suffered this unforeseen disaster.

Xu Chunliang isn’t someone to mess with. The grudges between him and Huayuan Group have nothing to do with the father and son; it’s best for them to stay out of it.

Although Tang Mingmei received a public apology from Han Tai, she became completely disheartened with Changxing Hospital because of this incident. She made a decision that surprised everyone: she applied for a two-year unpaid leave.

This means that she voluntarily stepped down from her position as the Director of the Nursing Department.

Zhao Feiyang received her application and immediately understood the reason behind Tang Mingmei’s decision. He tried to persuade her to stay, knowing that during an unpaid leave, salaries can’t be increased, no benefits can be enjoyed, the leave time doesn’t count towards future years of service, and that Tang Mingmei, as the current Director of the Nursing Department at Changxing Hospital, stands to lose a lot personally by stepping down.

Tang Mingmei smiled calmly and said, "Dean Zhao, I’ve already considered everything you mentioned. I made this decision after careful thought. With my current abilities, I really can’t fulfill the demands of Changxing Hospital’s work; it’s better to let someone more capable take the position."

Zhao Feiyang asked, "Is it that another hospital wants to poach you?"

Tang Mingmei didn’t rise through the ranks on looks alone; she truly has skills. Looking across the entire health system of Dongzhou City, there aren’t many who can match her business abilities.

Tang Mingmei shook her head and said, "I just want to take a break."

"You could take a public holiday."

Tang Mingmei said, "Dean Zhao, I won’t hide it from you, this incident has left a psychological shadow on me. I need a long time to adjust. If you don’t approve, I may only have the option to resign. The reason I haven’t resigned is that after working for so long, it feels a bit wasteful to quit, and I still have some attachment to Changxing."

Zhao Feiyang nodded. Seeing that Tang Mingmei was determined to leave, he didn’t persuade her further. He understood very well that Tang Mingmei’s departure was related to his handling of this dispute. Even though Zhao Feiyang also disliked Han Tai, he had to balance the interests of all parties and couldn’t go against the instructions of Tang Jingwei.

Zhao Feiyang signed the report for Tang Mingmei’s unpaid leave and with a smile said, "Then I wish you all the best. You can come back to work anytime."

He didn’t promise to keep the position open for Tang Mingmei. The Director of the Nursing Department can’t remain vacant for long. Too many head nurses at Changxing Hospital are eyeing this prime position. It seems Tang Mingmei doesn’t know how to appreciate what she has.

After getting the signature, Tang Mingmei went to say goodbye to Gao Xinhua.

Gao Xinhua was equally puzzled. The issue with Han Tai had been resolved, so why was Tang Mingmei still leaving? Importantly, if she took an unpaid leave, her personal loss would be too great. When she returned after two years, everything would have changed, and it would be impossible to retain her position as Director of the Nursing Department.

"Xiaotang, is another hospital trying to poach you?" Gao Xinhua had the same thought as Zhao Feiyang.

Tang Mingmei smiled and said, "No such thing, Dean Zhao said the same. I just want to take a good rest; I don’t like the current work atmosphere."

Gao Xinhua nodded and suggested, "If you haven’t decided where to go, I can recommend a place for you."

Tang Mingmei said, "Forget it, I just want to rest well."

"Just listen to me first, okay?" Gao Xinhua spoke about the hospital jointly opened by Gu Houyi and Xu Chunliang. Gu Houyi is currently recruiting and has asked Gao Xinhua to find a senior nursing talent; here’s someone right in front of him.

Tang Mingmei said, "I haven’t heard Xiaoxu mention it."

Gao Xinhua laughed and said, "Of course he won’t mention it. If he steps in, others would think he’s trying to poach from Changxing."

Tang Mingmei asked, "Would it be appropriate for me to go?"

"Why wouldn’t it be appropriate? I’ll mention it to Dean Gu, and he would definitely be happy."

Tang Mingmei said, "How about I think about it?"

"What’s there to think about? You’re young; don’t waste your good years. Go build a career in a reliable place. Let me tell you, their proctology hospital definitely has a bright future..."

The reason Gao Xinhua was so motivated is that Gu Houyi had difficulty recruiting nursing staff. It wasn’t because they were a private hospital, but many nurses balked at the mention of a proctology hospital, thinking the work was dirty, tiring, and unseemly to talk about.

Upon hearing that Tang Mingmei processed her unpaid leave, Gu Houyi immediately called her, inviting her to check out the hospital. He really needed an experienced Nursing Department Director to help share the workload.

Gao Xinhua highly recommended her, and with Gu Houyi being so enthusiastic, Tang Mingmei couldn’t refuse to at least take a look for their sake.

When she arrived, she found that the hospital’s conditions were much better than she had imagined. Just the renovation standards alone surpassed most hospitals in Dongzhou City.

Gu Houyi personally showed her around, and back in the office, Tang Mingmei quietly asked, "Dean Gu, who’s the majority shareholder of this hospital?"

Gu Houyi replied, "Elder Xu from Huichun Hall."

Tang Mingmei said, "I haven’t heard Xiaoxu mention it."
