Chapter 773 The Guidance of Light
Chapter 773 The Guidance of Light
Gathering their last bit of strength, they walked towards the glimmer of light. Each step felt incredibly heavy, but the faint glow drew them in like a magnet. Zhang Hao walked in front, his sword trembling slightly, yet he remained steadfast, pointing forward. His eyes were filled with a desire for survival and a wariness of the unknown.
The woman followed closely behind, the light from her magic wand dim but still flickering. Her steps were a little unsteady, her breathing rapid, but her eyes never left the light that led them.
The old man pulled the little girl along, struggling to keep up with the others. His face was covered in sweat, and every wrinkle concealed a deep sense of fatigue. The little girl's eyes shone with a complex mixture of fear and hope. She clutched the old man's hand tightly, as if it were her only support in this dark world.
"Everyone, be careful. We don't know what's ahead," Zhang Hao warned. His voice was especially clear in the silent cave, a little hoarse and tense.
As they approached, the light grew brighter. The surrounding darkness seemed to recede under its illumination, dissipating like the tide. The once icy air seemed to take on a hint of warmth.
The herbalist gasped and said, "I hope this is really the exit. I don't want to stay in this damn place anymore." His voice was full of eagerness and expectation, as if this light was his last life-saving straw.
When they finally reached the source of the light, they discovered a narrow passage, the light coming from the other end. The passage was only wide enough for one person to pass through, and strange patterns shimmered on the stone walls.
"It looks like this is our way out," Zhang Hao said, his voice a little uncertain, but more resolute.
Everyone was excited and ready to enter the passage. However, at this moment, a strong wind suddenly blew out of the passage, and there seemed to be a strange sound mixed in the wind. The sound was like the whisper of a ghost, or the curse of a demon, which made people shudder.
The woman frowned and said, "This wind comes strangely, everyone be careful." Her voice trembled, and her hands unconsciously clenched the magic wand.
But they had no way out, so they had no choice but to walk into the passage. The passage was narrow and rugged, forcing them to bend over. Water droplets from the stone walls dripped onto their bodies, bringing a chill.
Suddenly, the ground began to shake and rocks began to fall from overhead, each one a harbinger of death, terrifying everyone.
"Oh no! The passage is going to collapse!" the old man exclaimed, his voice filled with fear and despair.
Zhang Hao quickened his pace: "Hurry up, everyone, rush out!" His shouts echoed in the passage, inspiring everyone.
They ran desperately in the shaky passage, rocks crashing around them, raising clouds of dust. Every breath was filled with the smell of dust, and every step was full of danger.
The little girl was so scared that she burst into tears, "Grandpa, I'm scared!" The old man hugged her tightly and said, "Don't be afraid, child, we will be out soon." Although his voice was gentle, it could not hide the fear in his heart.
Just when the passage was about to collapse completely, they finally rushed out.
They were stunned by the sight before them: a beautiful forest appeared before their eyes, the sun shone on the grass, casting a golden glow, birds sang happily on the branches, and flowers swayed gently in the breeze.
"We're out! We're finally out!" the herbalist shouted excitedly. His voice echoed in the forest, filled with the joy of surviving a disaster.
The crowd cheered, hugged each other and cried, their tears sparkling in the sunlight, tears of joy and emotion.
However, before they could enjoy this moment of peace, a low roar suddenly came from the forest. The roar sounded like thunder, shaking the leaves to fall.
"What is this?" the woman asked in horror.
Zhang Hao gripped his sword tightly. "No matter what it is, we must face it."
A gigantic monster emerged from the depths of the forest. It was as big as a mountain, its fur stood up like steel needles, and its eyes flashed with a fierce light.
"This...how do I fight this?" The herbalist collapsed to the ground in fear.
Zhang Hao took a deep breath and said, "Don't be afraid, let's find a solution together!"
Can they defeat this giant monster and escape from the forest?
