Chapter 1701 Combat Hall!
Chapter 1701 Combat Hall!
After realizing just how poor he truly was within Starfall Haven, Max finally understood that his one hundred and ten thousand Killing Points were practically nothing in the grand scheme of the Cosmic Ascension Conference.
Earlier, he had felt somewhat satisfied after seeing his Killing Points surpass one hundred thousand. After all, he had slaughtered countless participants, farmed multiple lives from demons, destroyed an entire battlefield region, and even discovered a hidden cave filled with those terrifying rainbow rabbits.
Yet after entering Starfall Haven and looking at the prices of the Divine Abilities, that confidence had completely vanished. The cheapest Tier I Divine Ability alone required ten million Killing Points.
Compared to that astronomical figure, his one hundred and ten thousand points seemed almost laughable. For the first time since entering the Eternal Hourglass, Max genuinely felt poor.
After leaving the Divine Ability Pavilion, Max began wandering throughout Starfall Haven while carefully observing the city around him. The city was far more prosperous than he had initially imagined.
Vast marketplaces stretched endlessly throughout the streets while enormous buildings rose high into the sky. Some areas were dedicated entirely to entertainment, containing restaurants, taverns, gathering halls, and various attractions where participants could temporarily relax from the constant slaughter taking place outside the city walls.
Other districts contained endless rows of shops selling treasures, cultivation resources, weapons, armor, pills, maps, inheritances, and information. Everywhere he looked, people were buying, selling, negotiating, and exchanging resources.
The city almost felt like a real civilization existing independently within the Eternal Hourglass rather than a temporary gathering point for participants in a cosmic battle royale.
However, Max was not interested in spending Killing Points.
He was interested in earning them.
As he walked through one district after another, he continuously searched for possible opportunities to increase his wealth. Unfortunately, despite the countless shops and facilities available, none of them provided the answer he was looking for.
Eventually, after spending quite some time searching, Max stopped a random human participant walking nearby and directly asked. "Do you know the fastest way to earn Killing Points inside Starfall Haven?"
The man immediately laughed after hearing the question, as though Max had asked something extremely obvious.
"If you want to earn Killing Points, then there is only one place you should visit," the man said while pointing toward a distant part of the city. "The Combat Hall. Most people who stay in Starfall Haven for any significant amount of time eventually end up there. Some become rich overnight while others lose everything they possess. If you have confidence in your abilities, then there is no better place in the entire city."
The moment Max heard those words, his interest was instantly captured.
After obtaining directions from the man, he immediately headed toward the Combat Hall. The farther he traveled through the city, the more crowded the streets became. Participants filled every visible road while excitement permeated the atmosphere.
Before long, a gigantic structure gradually appeared in the distance. The building towered high above the surrounding city like an ancient colosseum, its massive walls stretching endlessly while countless golden runes shimmered across its surface.
Above the entrance floated two enormous words formed entirely from golden light.
Combat Hall.
Yet despite the sheer size of the structure itself, what truly shocked Max was not the building.
It was the crowd.
The moment he arrived before the Combat Hall, even Max could not help but stop briefly.
People.
Everywhere he looked there were people.
The area surrounding the Combat Hall was so crowded that it resembled a sea of living beings. Hundreds of thousands of participants had gathered around the building, creating a scene unlike anything Max had witnessed since entering the Eternal Hourglass.
Humans occupied large portions of the crowd, but they were far from the only race present. Demons with dark skin and horns continuously moved through the masses while elegant elves could occasionally be seen among them as well.
The atmosphere buzzed with endless conversations, arguments, cheers, and excitement. Some participants appeared thrilled while others looked devastated. Many walked out smiling broadly while clutching newly acquired treasures. Others stumbled out looking as though they had just lost everything they owned.
The entire place felt alive.
The noise alone was overwhelming.
Cheers erupted constantly from within the Combat Hall. Heated discussions filled the surrounding streets. Participants continuously rushed inside while others hurried out to spread news regarding recent matches and results.
Looking at the enormous crowd gathered around the building, Max immediately understood why the man had directed him here.
If there truly existed a place within Starfall Haven where Killing Points changed hands in massive quantities, then it was undoubtedly this Combat Hall. Just from the sheer number of people gathered here, Max could tell that enormous fortunes were being won and lost every single moment.
A faint smile slowly appeared across his face.
It seemed that his journey toward earning the remaining three hundred and ninety thousand Killing Points required for the Genesis Trial might begin here.
After spending some time asking around and gathering information from the participants present inside the Combat Hall, Max gradually came to understand why this place had become the most crowded location in all of Starfall Haven.
The deeper he looked into the rules governing the Combat Hall, the more he realized that the place had been specifically designed to tempt participants into risking everything they possessed.
It was no wonder that such an overwhelming number of people had gathered here despite the dangers involved.
The rules themselves were surprisingly simple. Any participant could register and begin a challenge sequence. Once the challenge started, they would face one opponent after another in consecutive battles.
Every victory would reward them with Killing Points obtained from defeating their opponent, allowing their earnings to steadily increase as they continued winning. However, the true attraction of the Combat Hall was not these ordinary rewards.
The true attraction was the massive bonus granted to anyone capable of achieving ten consecutive victories.
If a participant successfully defeated ten opponents in a row without suffering a single defeat, they would immediately receive a reward of one million Killing Points on top of all the Killing Points they had already accumulated from those ten battles.
One million Killing Points.
Even Max could not help but feel his heart shake slightly after hearing that number.
