Chapter 1712 Elf Prince's Test
Chapter 1712 Elf Prince's Test
At this moment, the atmosphere inside the Combat Hall had changed completely.
Before, many demons had been furious because of Max's arrogance.
Now, they were silent.
Before, many humans had been excited but uncertain.
Now, they were staring at him with burning eyes.
Before, most elves had watched with calm interest.
Now, even their calm expressions had become solemn.
Almost everyone in the Combat Hall had finally turned their attention toward Arena Seven. Demons, humans, and elves alike were now watching Max, and no one could pretend that he was merely an arrogant human shouting empty words anymore.
Five consecutive victories had been won in the blink of an eye, and each opponent had been crushed so brutally that even the most prideful demons had to admit one thing in their hearts.
This human was dangerous.
Far from the arena, Karo watched the scene with a faint smile on his face.
Unlike the other demons who were furious or shocked, Karo did not seem to care much about the five demons Max had killed. His expression remained calm, almost amused, as if he was watching an interesting performance rather than seeing members of his own race being destroyed one after another.
In his eyes, those demons were not worth mentioning. If they died because they were weak, then that was their own fault.
"A little interesting," Karo muttered softly, his smile unchanged.
However, he still had no intention of stepping forward.
To him, interfering before Max reached the eighth battle was not worth it. The trial still had several rounds left, and if Max really had the ability to continue forward, then there would be plenty of time to deal with him later. Until then, Karo was content to watch and see how far this human could go.
Among the elves, the golden-haired male elf who looked like an elven prince continued staring at Max with narrowed eyes.
The strange feeling in his heart had not disappeared.
On the contrary, it had grown stronger with each battle.
Every time Max moved, every time he punched, every time he calmly absorbed another demon's Killing Points, that faint sense of familiarity became harder to ignore. The golden-haired elf's gaze grew deeper, and after a moment of silent thought, he finally turned his head toward an elven woman standing beside him.
She was a graceful young woman with silver-green hair, clear eyes, and a slender sword hanging at her waist. Her aura was sharp yet elegant, and although she had remained quiet until now, it was obvious from the way the other elves gave her space that her strength was not ordinary.
"Go and challenge him," the golden-haired elf said calmly.
The elven woman was visibly surprised.
She looked at the prince for a moment, then glanced toward the arena where Max stood amid the ruined battlefield. Her brows furrowed slightly, not because she feared Max, but because she could not understand the reason behind this command.
"Your Highness," she said in a low voice, "this is a conflict between humans and demons. Why should we interfere?"
The golden-haired elf did not answer immediately.
His eyes returned to Max.
For several breaths, he only watched that human in silence, and the thoughtful look in his emerald eyes became even more intense. Then he spoke in a calm voice that only the elves near him could hear.
"Just go and test his strength."
The elven woman's expression shifted slightly.
The golden-haired elf continued, "Do not fight carelessly, and do not treat him like an ordinary human genius. Push him as much as you can and make sure he reveals at least part of his true strength."
The elven woman's gaze sharpened.
"Your Highness wants to test something?"
"Yes," the golden-haired elf replied softly, his eyes still fixed on Max. "I want to confirm something."
The elven woman did not ask further.
Although she still did not understand why their prince cared so much about this human, she knew his judgment was rarely wrong. If he had noticed something strange about Max, then there had to be a reason behind it. She nodded once, then stepped away from the elven group and walked toward Arena Seven.
Her movement immediately attracted attention.
Many humans looked surprised.
The demons frowned.
Even Max turned his gaze slightly toward her.
Until now, only demons had challenged him one after another because of anger and humiliation, yet now an elf had suddenly stepped forward. Her expression was calm, and there was no hatred in her eyes.
Unlike the demons who had entered the arena with rage, she carried herself with composed elegance, but the aura around her was sharp enough to make the surrounding participants understand that she was not weak.
The elven woman arrived before the arena barrier and looked at Max.
"I challenge you," she said.
The Combat Hall fell into a strange silence.
An elf had interfered.
The sixth battle was no longer against a demon.
Max looked at her for a moment, then smiled faintly with dark intent.
"So the elves are joining in too?"
The elven woman placed one hand on the hilt of her sword and stepped into the arena.
"I am only here to test you."
Max's smile turned wicked when he heard those words.
"Then you had better test carefully."
Although Max tried to remain as neutral toward the elves as he could, a faint coldness still stirred deep inside his heart, because no matter how rationally he tried to look at things, he could not forget that it was the elf race that had captured his parents, and it was also because of them that the tragic accident at his home had happened in the first place.
He knew very well that not every elf was involved in that matter, and he also knew that the elves from Acaris were different from the ones who had harmed his family, but hatred was not always something that listened to reason, especially when it was born from pain, loss, and memories that had carved themselves too deeply into the soul.
Because of this, even though this was his first time seeing the elven woman in front of him, Max still felt a trace of bias toward her, and it took him a few silent breaths to calm the dark emotions rising within his chest before he finally looked at her with a steady gaze and spoke in a controlled voice.
"Make your move."
