Chapter 803. There’s a head in front of the royal faction skyscraper.
Kailen Darkhaven returned to the Venzula Empire Academy. The moment Kailen arrived, he returned straightaway to his villa.
"Time to send a message. This way, anyone will think twice before trying any nonsense against me. I won’t have to waste time fighting unnecessary battles," Kailen thought.
Just because he preferred keeping a low profile and preferred keeping to himself did not mean he was someone others could easily target. This was what he intended to get across with what he was about to do.
Quietly, Kailen took the head of Xesla from his secret realm.

Snow fell on the ground. The evening breeze brushed across the place. Several royal faction members were moving in and out of the royal faction building, going about their business.
Suddenly, the void rippled as a figure stepped out of the void. No one noticed him at first. However, a few moments later, someone recognized him.
"It’s Kailen Darkhaven."
"The guy who slayed Damien Lee?"
"Yeah, that’s him. What is he doing here?"
"Don’t tell me he’s here to join the royal faction or something?"
"After offending the crown prince and rejecting the offer publicly? I don’t think that’s the case."
"What is he holding?" someone whispered.
"A head... wait... is that the head of Xesla Lee?"
"This..."
Several looked at what Kailen Darkhaven was carrying. It was someone’s head. They paid close attention. The head was the head of one of the rankers on the Royal Fate ranking.
Xesla Lee. Kailen Darkhaven killed her brother recently. It was obvious from the killing intent Xesla directed his way in the death arenas that she planned on sending assassins after him to kill him. When she expressed her killing intent towards him, he merely smiled at her. It seemed what that smile meant was that he had everything under control, and if she dared to kill him, she was free to try.
From what they were witnessing now, Kailen Darkhaven had killed Xesla Lee and her assassins.
"She most likely sent rank 5 novice stage transcendent assassins after him. Anyone in her situation with a working mind would have done the same thing. So how did he manage to..." someone muttered.
That’s right, many realized. How did he manage to kill them all?
"This fellow is the guest elder of some assassin syndicate that has been making a name for itself since the end of the NGU competition. What’s it called... The Lotus Assassin Syndicate. Before the national competitions of the NGU, they even destroyed another organization in the southern continent for him. He’s very valued by them..."
"Are you saying that perhaps..."
"Yes, he has a backing. He’s not just someone anyone can target anyhow."
"He most likely secured the help of the Lotus Assassin Syndicate. They are the ones who dealt with Xesla Lee and the assassins she sent after him."
"He brought the head of Xesla Lee to the entrance of the royal faction to send a message across that he’s not someone to be pushed around by others. What a madman."
"Indeed. I can’t imagine the kind of torment she must have gone through. Look at the expression on the face of her head."
"Well, her brother offended Kailen Darkhaven first. Actions have consequences."
"Yeah. Anyway, we need to make sure to never cross this fellow. If killing you in the academy death arenas or a secret realm won’t work, he will make use of the Lotus Assassin Syndicate to kill you when you are out of the academy."
"Yeah."
"This fellow is a madman."
Kailen glanced at the royal faction members staring back at him with various expressions on their faces. He held the head of Xesla Lee openly. He listened to their conversations, reading their thoughts from their emotional expressions with emotional resonance.
"Seems I’ve managed to get my message across. By leaving the head in an open place like this, especially in front of the royal faction she was a part of, the news will naturally travel throughout the academy in a few moments," Kailen mused to himself.
He left the head floating in the air at the entrance of the royal faction. He melded with the void and disappeared.
News of what had just transpired at the entrance of the royal faction spread throughout the academy. Many sighed. This Kailen Darkhaven was a madman. Even rank 5 novice stage transcendents were wary of him now. After all, he had the Lotus Assassin Syndicate as his backing. If they offended him in any way, they would always be watching their backs whenever they left the academy for several reasons. No one wanted to have a feeling that they could be killed at any moment. Unless absolutely necessary, they would not make any trouble for him.
As for Kailen Darkhaven himself, he was currently standing in front of a tall, Gothic-looking skyscraper somewhere in the academy. This was the Venzula Empire Academy Intelligence Agency building. Several individuals flashed him various looks such as fear, wariness, admiration, nonchalance, and even disdain. But fear and wariness were dominant.
It seemed the news of what had happened had spread far, Kailen thought.
Kailen entered the building and headed to the intel reporting floor. When he arrived at the intel reporting floor, he informed someone seated at a front desk that he was here to report on an intel mission. The person directed him to an office.
Kailen entered the office. A lady was seated on a couch with legs crossed. The moment Kailen saw her, a glint flashed through Kailen’s eyes. He knew her. The woman looked at Kailen. Kailen acknowledged her politely.
"Professor. I’m here to report on mission X789x," Kailen said.
Austere nodded. "Please sit," she added. "The first time I encountered you, it was in the NGU intercontinental competitions where one of my unfit disciples was killed by you. The second time is today. Let me use the second time of our meeting to sincerely apologize for what happened back then."
Kailen was a bit taken aback by the apology. But a glimmer of realization flashed through his eyes.
"I see. She knows I have potential to become someone powerful. She does not want to even let me entertain the idea that because I killed her disciple, she holds a grudge against me. She does not want me to come after her, thinking she’s someone with a seed for revenge in her heart in the future. What an open-minded person," Kailen thought.
"It was not the professor’s fault. She made a choice and paid the price for it," Kailen replied.
"Very well," Austere said. "I’m glad we’ve managed to meet this time on a fresh page. Please, the report."
Kailen nodded. "Right."
He proceeded to tell her everything he had discovered during the intel mission. He even handed over the recording he took to her. She played it and then sighed deeply.
"The Principal, the vice principal, and the academy higher-ups will not be happy to find out about this. After all, those stationed at the outpost were academy students. Being at the outpost was a mission they took on. And the revelation of this extraordinary secret realm..." she said. "I should report this to them. Thank you, Mr. Darkhaven. The contribution points for completing this mission will be doubled."
Before Kailen could nod, she turned into a streak of light and disappeared from the office through a window.
A holographic screen appeared before Kailen. He had just received 30,000 contribution points, twice the amount he would have received for completing the mission.
Because of this... something absurd was happening on the Heavenly Fate rankings...
