Chapter 1410: The Leaders Shall Battle

Chapter 1410: The Leaders Shall Battle

Chapter 1410: The Leaders Shall Battle Lucifer frowned for a brief moment, then his lips curved into another smile. He stretched out one hand toward Father Black, palm open in invitation.

"Leave Earth behind, Father Black. Join me. I will give you worlds beyond your wildest dreams — power, glory, everything a mortal soul could crave."

Father Black simply looked away from him, completely uninterested.

"Lucifer, you should concentrate on the dream of losing more."

He paused, then continued calmly, "Back to my proposal. I am not willing to sit here for another couple of days going through all the ranks in a long, drawn-out fight. How about we settle this properly? A direct fight between the leaders of the two factions — Fallen Angels versus Earth."

As Father Black spoke, Alexander flew up beside him and handed over Michael’s sword along with its scabbard.

Father Black took the weapon. The moment he channeled his cosmic energy into it, the blade blazed with a brilliant, scorching light — holy fire mixed with infernal shadow, burning brighter than anyone expected.

Seraphina suddenly chuckled, the sound sharp and mocking.

"This is the most foolish thing I have ever heard from the mouth of a human. My lord Lucifer has attained the rank of Morningstar, while you have not even reached the low rank of Evening Star."

Father Black raised his head and looked straight at Lucifer.

"Is this how you train your subordinates? How is it that two leaders of different factions are speaking, yet she disrespectfully opens her mouth?"

Seraphina’s face twisted with anger. She took a step forward, ready to dive down and strike Father Black.

But Lucifer raised a single commanding finger.

She stopped instantly, body trembling with rage, yet forced to obey.

Father Black gave a small side smile.

"Good dog."

Seraphina’s fists tightened so hard her knuckles turned white.

Father Black continued, voice steady.

"I am aware that I am not of your cultivation rank, Lucifer. But that is exactly why I want to do this now. I know you. There is no way you and your fallen angels will settle for using clones like Michael and the angels did out of some sense of honor. From the very beginning, you planned to crush us totally when we had to face your Morningstar rank. You set us up to lose."

This revelation made the people back on Earth gasp. Whispers spread rapidly among the crowds watching on screens.

"He knew all along..."

"Lucifer was planning to destroy us completely..."

Although they were many that calculated this much.

After all, lucifer did not have the best reputation. A scanner, a cheat, and the reason man kind fell in the first place.

Even when he believed himself to have the upper hand, he would still cheat—just to guarantee his victory.

While many might have seen it coming, pointing out was a different kind of blow.

Lucifer nodded slowly, still smiling.

"Good. Good. You are Regent for a reason."

He leaned forward slightly. "Still, if you already know you are destined to lose, why try?"

Father Black simply smiled.

"Because I carry the hopes and dreams of millions on one planet."

Subconsciously, he turned his head and looked at Earth with genuine fondness — the blue sun shining gently over the world he had protected for the last two centuries.

Father Black had not lived a peaceful life. He had been born in era that experienced the apocalypse, but had been fortunate ate enough to have been on the witch’s land and that was why he survived.

From trying to hustle out a living to becoming the salvation of his race.

Truly... when he looked at Earth, no one loved the place more than he did.

Father Black turned back to Lucifer.

"So, Lucifer... do you accept my terms?"

For a brief second that seemed to stretch into an eternity, silence blanketed the entire arena.

Then Lucifer opened his mouth, his voice smooth and amused.

"I want to refuse... but my desire to see what you have hidden up your sleeve compels me to agree."

His golden eyes drifted down and landed on Michael’s sword in Father Black’s hand, gleaming with interest.

Just then, Seraphina sent a private message directly into Lucifer’s mind.

*It would seem the Regent has confidence because of Michael’s holy tool.*

Lucifer replied mentally, his tone dripping with amusement.

*Unfortunately for him, to truly bring out the full potential of that holy tool, one must be part angel and of Michael’s blood. Meaning with the angels sent back to Heaven, I am the only one here who can fully bring it to its greatest potential.*

A glint of greed flashed in Lucifer’s eyes.

He and Michael were twins. They shared the same core that birthed them. An angel’s holy tool was always connected to their core. Gabriel had destroyed Michael’s connection to the Sword of Truth... but if Lucifer could forge that connection himself, his power would grow exponentially.

Father Black waved Michael’s sword once, letting its light dance across the void.

"Then we have a deal," he said. "Both leaders of each faction shall fight."

Lucifer nodded slowly.

Suddenly, the massive contract monolith reappeared before them, its runes shimmering as it adjusted to the new terms. Both parties were agreeing to a direct leader-versus-leader battle. Adjustments could still be made.

Father Black bit his finger, letting a drop of blood fall onto the monolith. The runes accepted it instantly.

Back on Earth, millions watched in stunned silence. People whispered frantically:

"What is Father Black thinking?"

"He’s really going to fight Lucifer himself?"

"Is he insane?"

After Father Black signed, Lucifer did the same, his blood burning across the contract like molten gold.

However, as the deal sealed, Lucifer suddenly noticed something.

Father Black was smiling.

It was not the smile of a man who had lost.

It was not the smile of a man who knew he was going to lose.

It was the quiet, confident smile of someone who had just set a trap... and was waiting for the prey to walk into it.
