As Corey gazed at the young boy which was eerily the Ancestor of Paragons, a million thoughts and questions flew across his stars of consciousness in the blink of an eye.

His mouth remained slightly open in shock, and his eyes remained unblinking as they emitted flashes of disbelief and awe.

Corey remained in this state for three seconds, and then a soft chuckle escaped the lips of the Paragon Ancestor.

"Why are you quiet now? Cat got your tongue?... You were so vocal before I showed myself to you, so speak."

The moment the Paragon Ancestor finished speaking, Corey found himself being able to speak. However, he still found it difficult to speak properly.

"Wha- What- What are you doing here?"

Although Corey had so many other questions he wanted to ask, this was the easiest question he could come up with in the presence of the Paragon Ancestor.

The Paragon Ancestor smiled seeing Corey speak despite the visible struggle and contortions on his face.

"Good. Despite being in the presence of this grade of avatar, you're still able to speak."

Corey wanted to respond but the Paragon Ancestor raised a hand. He looked around, and then he approached a boulder and sat on it with his right leg placed over his left leg.

He leaned forward with his chin resting on his fist, and then he smiled as he gazed into Corey's Tri-Pupil Eyes.

"As little Nina said, I was the one that allowed Pamela to see your status window. I told little Nina not to fully prevent her from being able to see your stats, and she obviously listened to me."

A deep frown emerged on Corey's face the moment he heard this, and he gritted his teeth as he struggled to speak.

"Why- Why?... Why did you do such a thing?"

The Paragon Ancestor shrugged while kicking his legs softly with a smile. "Do you trust me... Corey?"

Corey was immensely taken aback by the Paragon Ancestor's question, and for a moment, he didn't know how to respond and even his stars of consciousness were taken aback by the seemingly simple question.

Why would a being like the Paragon Ancestor ask if he, a mere Tier 2 Demi-Paragon trusted him?

"There are times trusting people is what could save your life."

Corey frowned deeply with a baffled expression. His lips parted open to speak, but the Paragon Ancestor cut him off with a smile that seemed... genuine?

"Who knows... There might come a time when I'll have no choice but to depend on you... Corey."

"Huh?"

Corey blinked in confusion and a million thoughts and questions flared to life in his Perceptual Nexus Repository.

He saw the Paragon Ancestor look up, and he did not know why, but he also looked up. When he did, his eyes widened in fear when he saw a hazy outline of an eye.

The eye looked like a haze of multiple colours that was ever-shifting, but it wasn't these that caused Corey to be afraid.

No.

It was because he could sense an immensely unfathomable aura from the eye that made his Cosmic Soul tremble before it.

"Hmm, he's about to lock onto this place... Quite a perceptive and cautious bastard."

Corey heard the Paragon Ancestor click his tongue while muttering in a frustrated tone. He looked at the Paragon Ancestor, and the Paragon Ancestor looked at him with a light smile.

"I have to get going or things might get more complex for you if I stay any longer."

As the Paragon Ancestor said these words, his body started dissipating like mist, and Corey's eyes widened slightly.

"By the way, don't forget to apologize to little Nina or you will definitely regret it in the future. Trust her at least, she was created to assist you..."

Corey did not know why or where it came from, but he felt a sense of shock and surprise permeate through his body at the words of the Paragon Ancestor.

"... Also, she was the one that protected you from the shockwaves and remnant attacks of the battle between the little Rune Sage and the abomination... So trust her and believe in her... Corey."

The moment the Paragon Ancestor said these words, he vanished into a cloud of mist, and Corey stared at the boulder the Paragon Ancestor sat on for some seconds before his eyes widened in realization and he cursed.

"He never told me why he allowed Pamela to see my status window."
