Chapter 1999 Deeds Revealed
Chapter 1999 Deeds Revealed
Yinding stood in the middle of the yard and rolled up his sleeves before Zhou Lie approached.
The wound on the outside of the left arm was still oozing blood, and the neatly cut edge was particularly eye-catching in the sunlight. It was a real knife wound.
"Tell me," he said, his voice low, but every word hammered into the ground. "You won't let us leave this yard even a step, and you'll just send people to kill us? Are you trapping us to die?"
Zhou Lie paused three steps away and raised his brows.
He took two steps forward and lightly touched the edge of the wound with his fingertips. The silver ingot subconsciously shrank back.
"It's true that they were injured by swords and knives," Zhou Lie turned to look at the guards behind him, "Who dares to touch my people?"
"It wasn't someone you sent?" Yinding pulled his sleeve down a little, covering his wound but unable to hide the coldness in his tone. "Then where did the assassin who broke in last night come from?"
Wu Liang took a half step forward and raised his voice: "The four of us stayed in the room last night! In the middle of the night, we heard the door open, and Brother Yin told us to hide under the bed. As soon as we hid, someone came in with a knife and slashed at the bed three times!"
He moved closer to the silver ingot and said, "If it weren't for Brother Yin's carefulness, we would all be killed by the sword now. How can we still stand here and talk?"
Zhou Lie's face darkened and his jawline was tense.
"Investigate," he shouted to the guards behind him, "Call all those on duty last night. If you can't find out who the assassin is, you'll be dead."
The guard left immediately.
"I, Zhou Lie, don't need to use assassins against you," he said, his eyes sweeping over the four people's faces one by one, "but someone did sneak out of the yard last night and hid a woman."
Yinding's Adam's apple moved, and his fingertips curled up quietly under the hem of his clothes.
Could it be that the woman I rescued last night was really captured by Zhou Lie?
It shouldn't be like that. That place is extremely secretive, and there are no signs of anyone coming in or out. The woman was also given dry food, so hiding there for two days should not be a problem.
Now that I think about it, it was indeed a bit hasty. The entire island belongs to Zhou Lie.
But, in that situation, to stand by and do nothing? To watch a woman being thrown into a cave to feed the monsters...
Yinding waved away his messy thoughts. There was no point in regretting. Now he could only take one step at a time. If things really came to this, the worst that could happen was that he would risk leaving the island.
I can’t say anything else, but I can still rush out of here and leave unscathed.
Wu Liang scratched his head and looked at Han Peng and Chen Ling in confusion: "Hidden woman? Weren't we together last night?"
Han Peng nodded immediately: "Everyone hid under the bed in the second half of the night. Who could go out and hide people?"
Chen Ling also agreed: "Is there a mistake? How can we sneak out of the yard quietly?"
Zhou Lie sneered, with obvious sarcasm in his laughter.
"Made a mistake?" He raised his chin towards the gate and said, "Bring it up."
Two guards escorted a woman in. Her hair was a little disheveled and her clothes were stained with mud. She was the woman that Yin Ding saved last night.
Wu Liang was stunned on the spot and subconsciously shrank his shoulders back: "Who is this? I don't know him at all."
Han Peng and Chen Ling also shook their heads, and Zhou Lie's gaze fell on the silver ingot.
Yinding's gaze swept across the woman's face, then quickly moved away, his lips pursed into a straight line.
He could feel Zhou Lie's gaze piercing his back like needles, so he could only feign confusion: "He looks unfamiliar. I've never seen him before."
"Never seen her before?" Zhou Lie took a step forward, looked at the woman, and said in a cold voice, "Look carefully. I saved you last night, but who hid you?"
The woman raised her head, her eyes were red, but she bit her lips tightly.
Her eyes moved around the four people's faces, and finally shook her head: "I don't know them. I haven't seen any of them."
Zhou Lie's brows knitted even tighter, and he raised his chin to the guard: "Teach her a lesson, let her think about it carefully."
As soon as a red-hot iron came close to her, the woman let out a cry of pain and struggled violently.
Yinding moved forward half an inch and then stopped abruptly.
He saw beads of sweat rolling down the woman's forehead and her lips were bitten white, but she still didn't let go.
"stop fighting."
The sound of the silver ingot was not loud, but it instantly stopped the movement in the yard.
He raised his head, met Zhou Lie's gaze, and a low sigh rolled out of his throat: "I saved her, and I also hid her. It has nothing to do with those three. If you want to punish someone, punish me alone."
Wu Liang was stunned.
He knew that Yinding had gone out last night because he was the one who spread the rumor. Yinding was not injured when he came back, and the wound on his arm was inflicted by him.
As soon as the silver ingot came back, he was asked to take action. Although he was reluctant, he knew there must be a reason, and it was a fatal reason.
One wound in exchange for a life, it’s worth it.
So he didn't hesitate.
Yinding only told him that he encountered some trouble last night, but he didn't mention that he saved a woman. Is this a little trouble? This is a huge trouble.
However, Wu Liang did not complain. He thought quickly and decided that if it were him, he would save him too.
Now that things have come to this, the worst that can happen is to fight to the death.
As soon as Yinding admitted it, Zhou Lie's face darkened.
"Okay, in that case..." He waved his hand, "Go ahead."
……
Huo Changhe looked at the shipping company's owner with a calm expression, but the owner could sense Huo Changhe's deep contempt.
Even, just a glance, without saying a word.
Yan Ruyu took over and said, "Our master has only one condition, which is that he must personally test the quality of the boat."
When the shopkeeper heard this, his heart immediately settled down.
"That's fine. It's not a condition. Generally speaking, you can try it."
However, Yan Ruyu's next words made him feel uneasy again.
"This is no ordinary test."
"As I said earlier, your reputation is not very good among my master. I have heard too much about it in the teahouse."
The shopkeeper cursed in his heart, Liu Jiulang’s people are so damn hateful. They are all brothers and their own business, is it really necessary to be like this?
Yan Ruyu changed the subject: "You should ask your boss to come and talk."
The shopkeeper also wanted to, but he had heard a little about what happened with Liu Balang, and he didn't want to get into trouble.
Moreover, Liu Balang also said last time that this is a big customer and he should try his best to win him over. If he can make the deal happen, it will be a great achievement for him.
If the other party makes any request, as long as it is not too excessive, he will make the decision.
People buy things and test the quality. How can this be considered an excessive request?
Of course not.
The shopkeeper convinced himself mentally and patted his chest, "No need, the boss has said so, so I can make the decision."
"I wonder what your Excellency's request is. Just ask. How do you want to test this boat?"
"Our previous method of testing ships was also simple. It was nothing more than testing them on the water. There are rivers outside Rongzhou City, so we can test them once we launch them."
The shopkeeper spoke with full confidence. Yan Ruyu smiled and said, "It's not that simple."
